4 years agoFormer Carolina Panthers running back Mike Davis signed a two-year deal worth $5.5 million on Tuesday with the Atlanta Falcons, according to a source. The deal includes $3 million fully guaranteed in Year 1 of the contract. Davis managed to set career-highs in carries (165), catches (59), scrimmage yards (1,015) and touchdowns (eight) in 15 games last season because All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey was injured for most of the year. With both Todd Gurley and Brian Hill being free agents, Davis has the chance to lead Atlanta's backfield in 2021. The 28-year-old could wind up being a high-upside RB2 if he winds up being the Falcons primary ball-carrier next season. There's still a good chance that the Falcons will add to the position in free agency or the upcoming draft, but Davis proved last season that he can help fantasy managers out in a big way with his work last season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
