Detroit Tigers outfielder Matt Vierling (oblique) began a rehab assignment on Friday with Triple-A Toledo, per MLB.com. Vierling has been on the 10-day injured list since early August due to an oblique issue. The 28-year-old was a key piece for Detroit in 2024, but injuries have limited him to just 31 games so far in 2025. In that 100-plate appearance sample size, Vierling is slashing .239/.310/.307 with just one home run. Upon his return, Vierling could factor into the Tigers' outfield mix, but is more likely destined for a bench role and will not make a significant fantasy impact.--Will Brady
