2 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop prospect Marcelo Mayer will start the 2023 season at High-A Greenville, while outfield prospect Miguel Bleis will start at Single-A Salem. Per MLB Pipeline, Mayer is Boston's top prospect, with Bleis checking in at No. 4. Mayer, the former fourth overall pick in 2021, hit .280/.399/.489 with an .887 OPS, 13 home runs, 53 RBI, 61 runs and 17 stolen bases with Salem and Greenville in 91 games. The 20-year-old didn't disappoint and should rise quickly through Boston's farm system in the coming years. Bleis, 19, played 40 games in the Rookie League in 2022 and hit .301/.353/.543 with an .896 OPS, five homers, 27 RBI, 28 runs and 18 steals. He's a high-upside, high-risk prospect for fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
