Luis Garcia Injured Friday
2 years agoWashington Nationals second baseman Luis Garcia (hamstring) left Friday's game early against the Colorado Rockies with right hamstring tightness. He appeared to wince as he crossed first base while running out a groundout in the sixth inning of the team's 10-5 win and was replaced in the bottom of the frame by Ildemaro Vargas. Manager Dave Martinez said after the game that Garcia was considered day-to-day. The 22-year-old's injury doesn't sound too serious, although he could miss a couple of games this weekend. It's been a slow start to the 2023 season for Garcia, as he's gone 5-for-24 (.208) with a double, two RBI and two runs in his first seven games. Don't be surprised if he's not in Saturday's lineup.
