Lions Waive Tyrell Williams
3 years agoThe Detroit Lions waived wide receiver Tyrell Williams (concussion) on Friday with an injury settlement. Williams suffered a concussion in the team's Week 1 game and has yet to play since. The 29-year-old was expected to replace Kenny Golladay and serve as quarterback Jared Goff's top receiver in 2021, but that obviously never came to fruition. Even if Williams were to land with another team, it seems unlikely that he'd become a fantasy asset elsewhere since he still hasn't cleared the league's concussion protocol. Rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kaylif Raymond have been Detroit's two most consistent pass-catchers this year outside of running back D'Andre Swift and tight end T.J. Hockenson, but both receivers have been very boom-or-bust in fantasy for the winless Lions.
