2 years agoThe Detroit Lions released defensive lineman Michael Brockers on Friday. In his 11th NFL season and second with the Lions in 2022, Brockers was limited to six games (five starts) as a healthy scratch for most of the second half of the season. The 32-year-old finished with just four tackles (one solo) and a pass defensed. By parting ways with the veteran defensive tackle, the Lions will save almost $14 million against the 2023 salary cap, so it was pretty much a no-brainer move for the improving Lions. Brockers could latch on with another team in free agency if he wants to continue his playing career, but he's highly unlikely to have anything other than a rotational role on the D line.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
