Lions Release Jamie Collins Tuesday
3 years agoThe Detroit Lions released veteran linebacker Jamie Collins on Monday after trying to trade him over the weekend. Collins was once a prized free-agent acquisition for Detroit, but he was a healthy scratch in the Week 3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens after the publicly expressed interest in trading him. The 31-year-old had 101 tackles, six passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one sack in 14 games for the Lions in 2020. In two games this season, Collins had 10 tackles (seven solo), a QB hit and a fumble recovery. He was a Pro Bowler back in 2015 with the New England Patriots and should latch on with another team before long to provide valuable linebacker depth.
