Keider Montero Likely To Be Called Up To Start On Tuesday
Keider Montero has a locker room in the team's clubhouse on Monday and is likely to be recalled from Triple-A Toledo to start Tuesday's game against the visiting Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park. It looks like Montero is going to take the starting rotation spot with right-hander Casey Mize (hamstring) currently injured. Although the matchup for his next spot start on Tuesday won't be the greatest -- the Red Sox currently rank sixth in MLB with a .745 OPS -- Montero will still be an interesting fantasy streamer after his last strong outing for the Tigers. The 24-year-old Venezuelan hurler picked up his first win of the year on May 8 in the second game of a doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field by throwing eight innings of one-run ball while walking three and striking out two. He has an ERA of 4.15 in his four big-league starts this year with 15 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings.
