Justin Fields Wants to be a "Little Bit More Aggressive" as a Passer
Justin Fields has not thrown an interception through the first six games of his first season in the Big Apple, but he admitted on Wednesday that he has been too conservative as a passer. "I feel like I've been a little bit too conservative in a sense," Fields said. "Probably just [need to] be a little bit more aggressive. The Jets have not won a game in 2025, and Fields took nine sacks and finished with minus-10 net passing yards against the Denver Broncos in Week 6, a franchise low and the fewest in the NFL since 1998. In addition to being 0-6, New York is 25th in scoring (20.5 points per game), and Fields could be in danger of being replaced by veteran Tyrod Taylor if things don't improve soon. Fields could look to be more aggressive in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, but he's likely to be without top receiver Garrett Wilson (knee). The only WR with a greater target share this year than Wilson (33.3%) is Jaxon Smith-Njigba (37%). Fields has nowhere to go but up after his Week 6 performance, but without Wilson, he'll be more of a high-end QB2 asset in fantasy this weekend.
