Josh Jung Put On 10-Day Injured List
1 year agoThe Texas Rangers placed third baseman Josh Jung (thumb) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a left-thumb fracture and recalled infielder Jonathan Ornelas from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. There is no timetable for Jung's return, but he should be stashed in all fantasy leagues until further notice. Expect him to be out beyond the 10 days on the IL. The 25-year-old All-Star has excelled in his first full big-league season, hitting .274/.323/.489 with an .813 OPS, 22 home runs, 24 doubles, a triple, 67 RBI and 70 runs scored in 109 games and 461 plate appearances. Ezequiel Duran is starting at the hot corner for the Rangers on Monday in Jung's absence, but they could mix and match at the position until Jung is able to return.
