Jordan Westburg Expected to Avoid the Injured List
Jordan Westburg (finger) has missed two straight games after jamming his left index finger on Sunday against the Yankees. X-rays were negative, but he was diagnosed with a left index finger sprain and held out of the lineup on Sunday and Monday. According to the latest report from MASN's Roch Kubatko, Westburg will avoid an IL stint and could even return to the lineup on Tuesday. He is hitting only .229 in his 34 games this season, but does have seven homers and a .315 wOBA. Westburg missed extended time earlier this season with a hamstring strain, and he was just starting to find a groove before this latest injury. Since coming off IL in early June, he is 10-for-39 (.256) with three homers and a 58.3% hard-hit rate. If someone in your league bails on Westburg, he could be a nice infield addition.
