Joey Logano starts fifth at Kansas on Sunday. The track has historically been very good for him, as he won three times there, most recently in 2020. However, in the Next Gen era, he has rarely been much of a race factor, leading only 15 laps combined with this chassis after leading more laps than that nine times with the Gen-6. Logano's team seems to only focus on specific races lately, making sure to win once in the regular season and as many opening-round races in the playoffs as possible while somewhat neglecting all the others. The strategy obviously works in terms of winning championships, but now that he did advance to the playoffs with his win at Texas, it seems he's going to have a long string of mediocre runs while focusing on the playoffs, and it could start here. The Penske cars obviously have speed, but one would be hard-pressed to think it is a good idea to start Logano in the regular season after he has won, especially when he qualifies as well as fifth.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
