Joey Gallo Set To Start Rehab Assignment
2 years agoMinnesota Twins first baseman/outfielder Joey Gallo (side) is feeling good and is heading to Triple-A St. Paul to get at-bats before rejoining the Twins when he's eligible to come off the 10-day injured list. The Twins initially thought Gallo would avoid the injured list, but he was put on the IL on Tuesday with a right intercostal strain that isn't very serious. The 29-year-old left-handed slugger should be back with Minnesota soon, barring a setback while on his rehab assignment, so fantasy managers in need of power need to keep him stashed. Gallo already has three home runs and seven RBI, getting off to a good start in his first year with the team. Donovan Solano is expected to continue starting at first base until Gallo returns.
