Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson managed to take just three shifts in Thursday's clash with Detroit before suffering a lower-body injury. He logged 2:21 of ice time and wasn't able to return. The Canadiens have been battling with various injuries all year and could now be without their best shot-blocker. The 29-year-old has thrown himself in front of 110 shots in 39 games. Edmundsson also boasts 64 hits for the season, but he has factored very little on offense, recording one goal and five assists. Montreal returns to action Saturday against Ottawa and there should be more info available on Edmundson's injury prior to the game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
