Jets Add Tyler Kroft To Tight End Room
4 years agoThe New York Jets agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent tight end Tyler Kroft on Friday, according to his agent, Mike McCartney. Kroft spent the last two seasons with the Buffalo Bills. He started four games last season and had 12 catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns. The 28-year-old is from Pennsylvania, so the move is a bit of a homecoming for him. After being drafted in the third round in 2015 out of Rutgers by the Cincinnati Bengals, Kroft has 85 career catches for 851 yards and 12 touchdowns in 42 starts. The Jets thought Chris Herndon was the solution at tight end, but he struggled in 2020, so Kroft could have an opportunity to leapfrog him on the depth chart. Gang Green also has Ryan Griffin on roster. Kroft could make for a nice red-zone weapon for the Jets and will be more of a TE2 target for fantasy managers.
