James Paxton Still Hasn’t Found His Velocity
James Paxton still hasn’t gotten his fastball velocity back to normal yet this season, with the pitch averaging only 91.5 mph on Sunday. Paxton’s overall performance was also poor on Sunday, as he lasted only three innings and allowed three runs. The good news about Paxton is that his diminished velocity is not injury-related, so it’s possible that he’s able to figure out the issue over his next few starts. Paxton isn’t a startable pitcher on most fantasy teams right now, but it doesn’t make much sense to sell-low on the 31-year-old, so fantasy players should let him ride the bench hoping that he can regain his velocity soon.
