Jameis Winston's Knee Injury Could Be Season-Ending
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton described quarterback Jameis Winston's (knee) injury as "significant," and it could be a season-ending situation. It didn't look good when a defender pulled him down on an illegal horse-collar tackle that caused his knee to buckle, and he was eventually carted into the locker room and never returned in the second half. Backup Trevor Siemian led the team to a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Taysom Hill (concussion) figures to take over under center whenever he gets past his head injury if Winston is forced to miss extended time. Hill has missed the last two games while in the concussion protocol. The Saints should rely even more on running back Alvin Kamara and the ground game moving forward.
