Harrison Bader Could Go On Rehab Assignment Soon
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader (oblique) has been hitting, running and throwing and is doing well, according to manager Aaron Boone. It's possible that Bader could play in minor-league rehab games on or around April 18. He strained his left oblique on a swing in spring training on March 8 and is expected to need around six weeks before making his 2023 debut with the Yanks. Bader was put on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to March 27) on March 30. Barring any setbacks once he starts playing in minor-league games, the 28-year-old outfielder should be able to return by the end of April. Bader played in only 86 games with the Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals in 2022 due to injuries, but he came on strong for the Bombers in last year's postseason and will be an everyday player when he's able to return.
