Ha-Seong Kim Activated From 10-Day Injured List
Ha-Seong Kim (back) from the 10-day injured list. Kim, out since Aug. 21 with inflammation in his lower back, is now in position to make his debut with the Braves. The team claimed him off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, likely setting the stage for Kim to overtake Nick Allen as the Braves' regular shortstop for the rest of the season. Kim had a rough time in Tampa Bay, where the former San Diego Padre didn't debut until July 4 after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. He has been on the IL twice this summer with back problems and has hit a subpar .214/.290/.321 with two homers, five RBI, five runs scored, and eight stolen bases over 24 games and 93 plate appearances. With Kim likely to exercise a $16 million player option for 2026 in the offseason, the Braves are gambling that he'll rebound with a change of scenery.
