Clayton Kershaw To Pitch In World Baseball Classic
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw said he was "all in" to pitch for Team USA in next year's World Baseball Classic. The three-time National League Cy Young winner and former MVP was 12-3 with a 2.28 ERA last season and was selected to his ninth All-Star game. Kershaw recently re-signed a one-year deal with the Dodgers to pitch another year in 2023, and although his numbers looked great again last season, the 34-year-old southpaw has become more of an injury risk as he's aged in recent seasons. Team USA will begin its WBC title defense on March 11 in Phoenix in Pool C along with Mexico, Colombia, Canada and Great Britain. Kershaw is unlikely to throw many innings in the WBC in 2023.
