Chris Paddack Close To Facing Live Hitters
1 year agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Chris Paddack (elbow) is around 10 to 11 days from facing live hitters in batting practice, according to team trainers. Paddack resumed throwing bullpen sessions in June while recovering from his second Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. It's been over a year since he had the elbow reconstruction, but the Twins are obviously taking it slow with the 27-year-old. Barring a setback once he begins facing live hitters, Paddack could return to the Twins in the final month of the regular season, although it remains to be seen what role he'd be in. He made only five starts for the Twins early in 2022, allowing 10 earned runs on 25 hits while walking two and striking out 20 in 22 1/3 innings. Paddack won't be much of a fantasy option if he returns to close out the 2023 campaign.
