After narrowly losing last year's spring Kansas race to Kyle Larson and narrowly losing the pole position for yesterday's race to Larson, Buescher surprisingly fell through the pack and got passed for 10th on the last lap of Stage 1 to prevent him from getting any stage points. He spent almost the entirety of Stage 2 outside of the top ten and surprisingly got passed by both of his teammates Brad Keselowski and Ryan Preece, although he eventually reentered the top ten after several drivers in front of him crashed, most notably Keselowski. Buescher ended up finishing eighth directly behind Preece and gained six points on the playoff cutline while remaining 12th in points. It wasn't a terrible run, but considering the expectations from last year's race and his unusually strong qualifying, it has to be considered a missed opportunity.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
