Byron Buxton Sitting Out Thursday
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Boston Red Sox. It looks to be a normal day of rest for Buxton, who has gone 1-for-19 of late at the plate. With Buxton starting on the bench, Jose Miranda is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth, while Willi Castro gets the start at the hot corner and is batting ninth against Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck. Buxton's recent cold spell offensively has his current average sitting at .226 (14-for-62) with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, six RBI, 12 runs scored and 25 strikeouts in 70 plate appearances in his first 17 games in 2023. Hopefully the day off will help Buxton turn things around this weekend.
