Brewers Put Eric Thames, Junior Guerra On DL

The Milwaukee Brewers placed first baseman/outfielder Eric Thames (hamstring) and starting pitcher Junior Guerra (forearm) on the 10-day disabled list on Saturday ahead of their doubleheader. Infielder Nate Orf has been recalled from Triple-A and starting pitcher Brent Suter (forearm) has been activated from the DL in corresponding moves. Thames and Guerra were both injured Friday night. Thames' injury is believed to be minor, so they're giving him a little extra rest with the All-Star break next week. He remains useful in deep mixed and NL-only leagues for his power. Guerra has been good overall this year (3.23 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 8.8 K/9), but he allowed six earned runs in just four innings against Pittsburgh on Friday night. Perhaps it had to do with his injury. It's unclear how much time he'll need to miss or how severe his injury is. Suter will start the second game of the doubleheader against the Pirates on Saturday, but he's a risky fantasy streamer in his first start back off the DL.
