Brandon Pfaadt Hit Hard In First Triple-A Start
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks right-handed pitching prospect Brandon Pfaadt gave up five runs in 3 2/3 innings while serving up four home runs in his first start of the season for Triple-A Reno on Sunday. It's not the way Arizona's top pitching prospect wanted to start his 2023 season, although he didn't give up a single walk and also struck out seven in the outing. The 24-year-old impressed in spring training and almost won an Opening Day starting rotation spot, so he's very close to making his major-league debut this year. He should already be stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues and could have a solid role in Arizona's rotation at some point this year. Pfaadt should at least be a mid-rotation starter for the Snakes, even if it doesn't come this season.
