Blake Swihart Showing Up In Spring Training

Boston Red Sox catcher Blake Swihart has appeared in 10 games this spring and has been taking advantage of his chance to win the starting job in Beantown. A slash line of .360/.385/.480 with five RBI over 25 at-bats is far-and-away the best at the position, whereas Christian Vazquez and Sandy Leon are known more for their defensive abilities. At 26 years old, Swihart has yet to hold a full-time starting job but his hot bat is going to make it difficult for the Sox to decide on a primary backstop. If they go with Swihart, he'll likely be batting at the bottom half of a strong lineup, making fantasy-relevant opportunities hard to come by. The indecision here makes him hard to trust, even if you're punting the catcher position come draft day.
