ANALYSIS: Philadelphia Phillies third base prospect Otto Kemp has been one of the most productive hitters at the Triple-A level this season and is quickly approaching his MLB debut. Through the first 49 contests with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Kemp has posted a stellar .319/.425/.602 slash line with 16 doubles, 12 home runs, and 10 stolen bases.

This production is quite impressive when considering how Kemp performed during his first taste of Triple-A action last season. In 2024, Kemp posted a low .200/.333/.244 line with no home runs during his first 13 games at the level. Earlier that summer, Kemp held a modest .258/.353/.476 line with 11 home runs across 64 contests at Double-A.

While the 25-year-old has been one of the best hitters at the level this season, he may need to wait longer for his MLB debut. Currently in the majors, Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott occupy third and second base, respectively, and are not in any danger of losing playing time.

As a result, Kemp may need to wait for an injury to earn a call to the big leagues.
