Today's NBA Picks: Top Player Props, Odds, and Best Bets (Sunday, 3/8/26)

Evan Mobley - NBA DFS Lineup Picks, Fantasy Basketball

Get Thunder Dan's top NBA player props and expert picks for Sunday, 3/8/26. Uncover today's best value bets, model projections, and live odds to beat the books.

We continue to get some stellar matchups and full slates on Sundays, so why not place some wagers and enjoy a full day of NBA basketball?

The Cavs, with Donovan Mitchell back in the lineup, take on the Celtics, who just added Jayson Tatum back to the mix in the early national TV game. Then we get Lakers-Knicks in the mid-afternoon telecast, followed by an evening doubleheader on Peacock with Rockets-Spurs and Suns-Hornets. Those are four pretty great games, and there are another six games on which to wager, including a really solid matchup between Detroit and Miami.

In this article, I will provide my favorite NBA player props picks for Sunday, March 8th. Prop picks can range from individual stats, such as points, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, and defensive statistics, to combination props (Points + Rebounds + Assists = PRA). All odds and sportsbooks used are listed, but it's always a good idea to shop around, as odds change throughout the day as bets are placed.

Today’s Best NBA Picks for Player Props

Let’s take a look at the top player props for today’s NBA slate:

RotoBaller Props Tool and Projections

Our RotoBaller Props Optimizer is showing Russell Westbrook's props as the best values on the slate, and I can't disagree! The Bulls have allowed the most assists to opposing point guards over their last 15 games, so my favorite angle is probably Points + Assists, but take your pick!

The NBA Props Optimizer tool is available only to premium members, as well as our Sleeper Props Tool and PrizePicks Props Finder! Snag a premium pass to all our betting/props tools and crush the prop market for the rest of the season!

Top NBA Player Props

Evan Mobley over 25.5 Points + Rebounds (-105 MGM), (-110 NOVIG)

Let's start things off with a play for the early game. The Cavs will get Mitchell back for this game against Boston, but will be without center Jarrett Allen, who had been playing at an incredibly high level before getting hurt recently.

Enter Mobley, who is finally back to playing full starters' minutes after being eased back into the rotation after he missed some time of his own. We like it when bigs who play power forward slide over to center for the majority of their minutes; it usually results in a big boost to their boards. This has become a near auto-play situation for me, like with Karl-Anthony Towns when Mitchell Robinson is out, for example.

Mobley doesn't get a huge boost (about half a rebound per game) without Allen on the floor, but he should have a nice advantage inside against a Boston team that lacks size and will be without Nikola Vucevic, too. Mobley has gone 19-11 and 27-14 against Boston in two meetings this season and will benefit from playing in the pick-and-roll with James Harden, whose passing has helped Allen's offensive efficiency explode in February.

Jrue Holiday over 24.5 Points + Assists (-104 FanDuel) (-107 NOVIG)

Holiday has gone over this number now in four straight games and five of his last six. Deni Avdija is questionable for this game tonight, but my gut says he probably sits this one out as the Blazers are already 8.5-point favorites at home against a very bad Pacers team.

Holiday has handed out 10 and 11 dimes over his last two games, while cracking 20+ points in four straight. The Pacers' defense has been a sieve this season, so look for Holiday to get there for us tonight with either his scoring or passing, or both!

Bam Adebayo over 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-112 FanDuel), (-123 NOVIG)

We usually don't attack the Pistons' defense with opposing players for props, but Detroit has slipped a bit lately on the defensive end, and Miami is surging on offense at the same time. The Pistons have allowed the fifth-most points to opposing centers over their last fifteen games, and it's certainly surprising to see them with a worse mark than teams like Chicago and Dallas, who have been abused by big men all season.

As far as Bam goes, he's arguably playing his best basketball of the season right now, scoring 20+ points in five straight, with three of those being double-doubles. Tyler Herro's return to this Miami lineup has elevated this entire offense and has helped free up Bam for more open looks. We know that Bam is a relentless rebounder and an above-average passer, too, so instead of just betting on his points, I'll bet on his PRA prop in case he ends up providing more value in boards and/or assists tonight.

Dejounte Murray over 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (+100 FAN), (-108 NOVIG)

The Pelicans have surprisingly handed the starting point guard job over to Dejounte Murray now that he's ramped up to full speed. I'm not here to question why they'd do that and bench their rookie Jeremiah Fears, just to take advantage of the matchup that Murray and the Pels have tonight against Washington.

The Wizards have been one of the worst defensive teams in the league all season. The return of Trae Young isn't going to fix that either! Now, Washington does get Alexandre Sarr back tonight, which helps provide some rim protection, but Sarr's presence won't cure their defensive woes either.

Murray has gone over this number in three of his last four games, with the one game where he missed being on the hook right at 27 in only 22 minutes. Now that he's played 28 and 30 minutes in his last two games, I have him projected for 30+ PRA tonight in this spot.

Top NBA Value Picks and Sleeper Props

Betting on superstars is always exciting, but the best value often lies in the margins of a roster. Role players and emerging contributors can offer hidden edges, especially as the season wears on and injuries start to shake up rotations. We don't want to wager only on superstars; often, role players and lesser-known players may offer the best markets.

Let’s dive into some of the top value plays for today’s NBA slate.

Tristan da Silva over 15.5 Points + Rebounds (-110 FAN)

Orlando continues to battle injuries this year. Franz Wagner has missed most of the year, Jalen Suggs has missed a ton of games, and Paolo Banchero missed a huge chunk of time earlier in the year, too. Now, Anthony Black could be out of the lineup tonight after leaving last night's game early, too.

Enter super-sub da Silva, who has been playing some great basketball lately for the Magic. He's a tweener who can play on the wing or as a stretch-four, and he's been scoring the ball incredibly efficiently lately.

He's gone over this number in eight of his last ten games, averaging 16.8 points and boards in that stretch. I don't see why he can't keep it going tonight. He should continue to see around 30 minutes either as a starter or the first man off the bench.

Reed Sheppard over 13.5 Points (-115 FAN) (-127 NOVIG)

Sheppard's points prop has been free money for a few weeks now, and it's back down a few points now that he will shift back to the bench tonight. I don't care if he's coming off the bench or not, Sheppard is playing really well and providing Houston some much-needed scoring.

He's rolling along right now, scoring 14+ points in seven straight games and getting up a large volume of shots, and not just from behind the arc as we've seen him attack the paint with floaters and mid-range pull-up jumpers. He's hit this prop in two of the three meetings with the Spurs, too, as if we needed one more trend!

Jay Huff over 14.5 Points + Rebounds (-118 FanDuel)

The Blazers are a team that we can target with opposing big men. While Donovan Clingan is a plus rebounder and passer, he's not shown the ability to stop opposing centers on defense. Portland is allowing the most points to opposing centers in the NBA over their last 15 games, and the trend goes further back beyond that, too.

Huff has settled into some consistent minutes lately, playing 25+ in six straight. He's gone over this number in three straight, and I like his chances of doing it again, as he can get there with some hot shooting from behind the arc or just some easy buckets in the paint. He has four or more boards in five straight games, too, so the rebounding floor is there.
