MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/6/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Jazz Chisholm - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

Free daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings, FanDuel. Use Euan's MLB DFS expert picks to build winning DFS lineups on August 6, 2024.

Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! After an off-day for a few teams in MLB, Tuesday returns with a bang and offers up an 11-game slate for DFS consumption. The action starts at 7:05 p.m. EDT when the Angels visit the Yankees in New York.

Speaking of the Yankees, they have been scorching hot at the plate over the last month. Since July 7, the pinstripes own the second-highest OPS (.853) and wRC+ (138) against right-handed pitching, along with the third-highest wOBA (.362). It could be a great day to stack your lineup against Davis Daniel. On the weather front, some strong breezes are roaming around the country, so check the weather report one last time before locking in your lineups later this evening.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/6/2024 and the slate locking at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Sonny Gray - RHP, STL vs. Rays ($9.6K DraftKings; $10.4K FanDuel)

After a sluggish start to the second half of the season, Sonny Gray put it all together on his last trip to the mound. The Cardinals' right-handed pitcher went seven innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out nine Cubbies. In his 19 innings post-All-Star break, Gray has racked up 26 strikeouts to four walks. The 34-year-old is 10th in baseball with 147 strikeouts in 2024 and will add to his total on Tuesday. Since July 6, Tampa Bay has the fourth-highest strikeout rate (26.4%) to RHPs.

Bryce Elder - RHP, ATL vs. Brewers ($7.9K DK; $7.6K FD)

It's been a stop-start season for Bryce Elder, but he's shown strikeout upside since the All-Star break. On July 20 against St. Louis, the Braves righty struck out nine, and then he followed that up with another seven strikeouts against Milwaukee. Elder faces Milwaukee again on Tuesday's 11-game slate, but his low price gives him incredible value as an SP2 on DraftKings. The Brewers lead baseball over the last month with a 27.2% K% to RHPs, and their .296 wOBA is seventh-worst in that span.

Also consider: Shota Imanaga vs. MIN, Grayson Rodriguez at TOR, Ross Stripling vs. White Sox, Cristopher Sanchez at LAD

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Justin Turner - 1B/3B, SEA vs. Keider Montero ($3.2K DK; $2.7K FD)

The Justin Turner trade already feels like a classic deadline deal where a hitter on a team playing for nothing goes to a contender and gets red hot. Since transferring from the East Coast to the West Coast, the veteran infielder has two multi-hit games, a home run, and six RBI with Seattle. He's raised his entire slash line and is hitting fourth for an offense desperate for firepower. The DFS prices haven't adjusted for Turner's new environment and premium lineup spot. Smash him in your lineups before the DFS sites catch up.

Coby Mayo - 3B, BAL at Chris Bassitt ($2.2K DK; $2.0K FD)

It's the most wonderful time of the year when a prospect gets the call to the majors, and they get a dirt cheap price in DFS. It happened to Coby Mayo's teammate Jackson Holliday last week, and now it's his turn. The upside is immeasurable in this Baltimore lineup, and grabbing such a discounted piece of this offense is DFS gold. Mayo only grabbed one hit over the week, but he will look to spread his wings and showcase his talent in Toronto against Chris Bassitt and his 4.36 SIERA and 1.45 WHIP.

Orlando Arcia - SS, ATL vs. Colin Rea ($3.1K DK; $2.8K FD)

Atlanta may not have the scariest offense in baseball these days, but they are still in the top half of the league with a .709 OPS. That leaves some value for DFS managers to mine from this lineup, and Orlando Arcia is the perfect example. The Braves shortstop is consistently batting fifth and has hit his way into quite a hot streak. Over the last 10 games, the 30-year-old averages 12.38 FanDuel PPG. That's the seventh-highest mark at the position on Tuesday's slate, yet he's priced as the 25th most-expensive shortstop.

Also consider: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Jorge Polanco, Mark Vientos, Francisco Lindor, Anthony Volpe

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jazz Chisholm Jr. - 2B/3B/OF, NYY vs. Davis Daniel ($5.1K DK; $3.5K FD)

Since arriving in New York, Jazz Chisholm Jr. has done nothing but play the greatest hits. In seven games with his new club, the versatile playmaker slashes .300/.364/.700 for the Yankees with seven runs, eight RBI, four home runs, and two steals. Chisholm bats sixth in most games between Giancarlo Stanton and Gleyber Torres, and he is making the most of his improved lineup surroundings. That slash line won't last forever, but the shot streak can live on for one more evening against Davis Daniel and his 4.91 ERA.

J.D. Martinez - OF, NYM at Kyle Freeland ($4.9K DK; $3.8K FD)

This was nearly a Brent Rooker recommendation, but the $1.0K difference on DK (Rooker is $5.9K) gives Martinez the edge on the 11-game slate. The veteran slugger is playing in Colorado versus a struggling Kyle Freeland (5.19 xERA) and batting third in a piping-hot Mets lineup. Since July 20, Martinez has been getting the bat on the ball more often, and the RBI numbers are rising. The 36-year-old has a .288 batting average compared to his .265 season-long number, and his 13 RBI account for 25% of his season total (52).

Lawrence Butler - OF, OAK vs. Jonathan Cannon ($4.1K DK; $3.0K FD)

You've got to love a leadoff hitter in this price range against a struggling pitcher like Jonathan Cannon. A's outfielder Lawrence Butler hit the bench on Monday with a southpaw on the mound but will return to his spot atop the Oakland lineup against a righty. It's been up-and-down for Butler since he exploded out of the post All-Star break gates, but there's still value to this pick. In the second half of the season, the 24-year-old sports a 1.042 OPS with 14 runs, 10 RBI, 10 extra-base hits (three home runs), and three steals in 15 games.

Also consider: Aaron Judge, Kyle Schwarber, Wilyer Abreu, Harrison Bader, Joey Loperfido
