MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/25/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Bobby Witt Jr. - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on May 25, 2024. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have a full slate today with the main slate at the matinee on both sites. Nine games grace the main slate with a six-game nightcap. Well...at least DraftKings made it easy. FanDuel chopped the early and afternoon slate to make them less desirable and get more rake-off contest entries. Those savages! If you want to play the nine games all at once, the only way to do so is with the all-day option, including the night slate. Leave it to FanDuel to make this slate a little less interesting.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Saturday, May 25, 2024, with the slate starting at 1:10 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Reynaldo Lopez at PIT ($8.5K DraftKings; $9.3K FanDuel)

The Reynaldo Lopez renaissance continues in 2024. Once a top prospect with the Nationals, he was sent to the White Sox with Lucas Giolito and Dane Dunning in the Adam Eaton deal. Lopez and Giolito were dealt together again to the Angels last year. The Braves brought Lopez in to be a key bullpen piece, but the injury to Spencer Strider rushed him into the rotation. Lopez hadn't started a game since the 2022 season and hasn't been a starter for a full season since 2019 when he allowed a major league-worst 110 earned runs.

Somehow the Braves managed to dust off Lopez and turn him into not just a good starter, but a great one. The guy has a 1.54 ERA in eight starts this year with 44 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings. He gets a great matchup against a Pirates team that is showing signs of life but still struggles against right-handed pitching. They also have the third-highest strikeout percentage against righties in the last 30 days. Things are lining up great for Lopez.

Chris Paddack vs. TEX ($7.3K DraftKings; $8.9K FanDuel)

I like Paddack a lot better on DK. I know...I know. You think I'm nuts for using a pitcher against the Rangers, but I'll back this up. First off, Paddack has been really good at home this year with a 2.57 ERA in five starts. On top of that, the Rangers have lost five straight and 12 of their last 14 games. They haven't scored more than four runs in a game since May 8 against Oakland.

This is not a team seeing the ball well right now and Paddack has even upped his strikeout numbers a little. He has 26 strikeouts in his last four starts (24 1/3 innings). That price is a gift on DraftKings and he's at least worth considering on FD as well.

Also consider: Nick Pivetta vs. MIL, Jordan Hicks at NYM; Reese Olson vs. TOR

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Bobby Witt Jr. – SS, KC vs. Aaron Civale ($6.3K DK; $4K FD)

Witt is my first click on FD at that price. The guy has three homers and nine RBI in his last three games alone! On top of that, he obliterates cutters, sinkers, and whatever other junk Civale throws. Lock and load!

Alex Bregman – 3B, HOU vs. JP Sears ($4.6K DK; $2.8K FD)

Bregman has cooled off some, but three of his four homers on the season have still come in the last 10 days. Bregman is 5-for-11 with two homers in his career against Sears. Bregman has struggled against four-seamers this year, but he has hit those pitches better than any other in all but one of his major league seasons. Add that to his good numbers against sinkers and sliders (and lefties in general), and you have a recipe for more success against Sears.

Dylan Moore – 2B/SS, SEA vs. Trevor Williams ($3.6K DK; $3.2K FD)

Not only is Moore hitting .300 in the last 10 games, but he has three homers, six RBI, and two steals in that span. On top of that, Moore has scored 16 DraftKings points in the last two games without recording a hit. That's the kind of guy I want in my lineups. Williams had his first bump on the 2024 road last week against Philly. His strikeouts are down and fly balls are up. Expect Moore's hot streak to continue.

Also consider: Rafael Devers, Matt Olson, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Ronald Acuna Jr. - OF, ATL vs. Mitch Keller ($6K DK; $3.9K FD)

Acuna is priced $200 lower on FanDuel than Marcell Ozuna. I'm all about Acuna over on FD! He is 6-for-15 in his career against Keller. Half of those hits have left the playground. Sure, Acuna isn't mashing fastballs like he usually does, but he should come around at some point. Acuna only has four home runs on the season...one of which was yesterday. I'll hop back on today.

Kerry Carpenter – OF, DET vs. Jose Berrios ($4.5K DK; $3K FD)

That sparkling 2.89 ERA on Jose Berrios is an absolute farce. The 47.6% hard-hit rate is the worst of his career as is the 91.2 mph exit velocity. His expected ERA of 4.87 confirms this. Carpenter has two homers in the last five games and destroys sinkers, which is what Berrios throws the most. I like a few Tigers today, but none more than Carpenter.

JJ Bleday – OF, OAK vs. Spencer Arrighetti ($3.9K DK; $2.8K FD)

Bleday has homered in three straight games. He has a great chance of making it four. Arrighetti throws his four-seamer 42.5% of the time, which is a really high number. Bleday hits .370 against four-seamers with a .658 slugging percentage. He hits .375 against cutters, Arrighetti's second-most thrown pitch (20.2%). Expect another good day from JJ.

Also consider: Kyle Tucker, Jarren Duran, Miguel Andujar

2. Athletics vs. Spencer Arrighetti
