KBO DFS Lineup Picks for 6/13/20 - DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball

Mark Strausberg's KBO DFS lineup picks for contests on FanDuel and DraftKings on 6/13/20. Daily fantasy baseball analysis for pitchers, hitters, and DFS stacks.

Welcome, RotoBallers to my second KBO DFS slate preview. I didn't get hear any complaints, so I'm guessing y'all like what you see so far.  Sorry about the "y'all," that's my Southern background peaking out its head.  It drives my kids, who grew up in the North, crazy. I'll be honest with you however, it lately feels tough to be a white man with a Southern accent. Don't worry, I'm not getting political. Because you know what might be even more daunting? Tonight's slate. I'm feeling more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room of rocking chairs. However, that doesn't mean we can't take advantage, whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to KBO.

New to KBO? DraftKings and FanDuel will use the same scoring system that they do for MLB, however, the roster builds are much different on FanDuel. You must roster two infielders, two outfielders, and two utility players along with a pitcher for a total of only seven players on FanDuel. DraftKings has kept its normal MLB structure with two starting pitchers and an entire eight-hitter lineup for a total of ten players. Building lineups on each site is going to be very different.

Today, I'll be providing my KBO DFS lineup picks and analysis for this five-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 1:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Make sure you are also following me @MarkStrausberg on Twitter! Let's dive into the pitchers and hitting stacks!

KBO DFS Pitchers

Like last week's preview, I'll have a number of Odrisamer Despaigne (DK $XX00, FD $XX) shares. He is less obvious however this week. However, he's taken on 7th place Samsung Lions who are still stuck in an offensive mire. They are third from the bottom half of the league in runs, hits, and home runs.

And Despaigne has had some nice outings...

...so he's definitely in play tonight.

Despaigne has a much higher ceiling, but my favorite floor play might be Tigers converted reliever Ki-Young Im ($7600, $25). He's not striking out nine or ten players, but he has excellent control. He has only four walks in over 32 innings and should be able to keep that up against the SK Wyverns who is even a worse offense than the Samsung Lions. His 3.34 ERA and 1.21 WHIP so far should only get better after tonight.

My third choice at pitcher is likely coming from the LOT/LG game. Woo Chan Cha (DK $8700, $26) might be the opposite of Im. Cha is a flamethrower who has an impressive 31 Ks so far this season, but he's given up a long ball in all of but one game this year. The good news however is that it was his last game pitched. Yet that was the same game that he gave up double-digit baserunners for the second time this year. His 1.44 WHIP is a little tough to swallow, but he does only have one earned run in his last 13 IP. However, with Roberto Ramos now out, I'm not sure how much run support he will get. And the opposing pitcher, See Woong Park has my attention. Park has pitched better than his 5.40 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. His last outing in particular was a one earned run and seven strikeouts in six-inning victory. At his low price point, there is potential value to be had.

Other starters to consider are:

  • David Buchanan is a talented pitcher making for an interesting contrarian play.

KBO Top Hitter Stacks

KT Wiz

I like Buchanan but I'm still stacking against him.

The Dinos and Bears will be the chalky stacks. Yet there's a ton of players I like on the Wiz. Any Wiz stack should start with Mel Rojas Jr. (DK $5700, FD $16). His price has come down a little bit from last week, fortunately. He has not been as hot lately, but he is still hitting .391 with 10 HRs and an OPS north of 1.130 on the year. Do you want someone hot? How about Baek Ho Kang, who went yard last night?

That now brings him up to six homers despite a three-week stint on the DL and a .333 average on the year. Kang is one of my favorite plays tonight on both sites. With those two soaking up so much salary, we need to find some lower-cost options. Shortstop Woo Jun Sim (DK $3800, $10) jumps out at me. Sim is doing just enough to give us a small profit.

I like the Wiz on both DK and FD, but after that, it depends on which site you play. The chalky Dinos are pretty expensive on FanDuel, but I do like them on DraftKings.

NC Dinos

Any Dino stack should start with Sun Bum Na  (DK $5900, $17) who has rightfully been called the Korean Mike Trout and I would fade him at your own risk.

But Na has not been doing it alone. 3B Suk Min Park (DK $4700, $10), 2B Min-Woo Park ($4700, $12), and 1B/OF Jin Sung Kang ($4100, $14) have been regular contributors to Dino stacks most of the season. And Kang went yard just two days ago:

But again, NCD is expensive on FanDuel, so if you are looking for a second stack there, I am going with the LG Twins

LG Twins

No Ramos? No problem. I've been riding Eun Sung Chae (FD $11) all season and tonight is no different. I also love Hyun-Soo Kim ($14) who leads the league in doubles and is averaging 13.11 FFPG this year. The third piece of my stack is the very affordable Kang-Nam Yoo ($8) who last failed to get a hit over a week ago. And the day before that, he had a monster game, putting up 47.6 FPs. He has a great floor and a ceiling that far surpasses his $8 price tag.

Other stacks to consider:

  • The always chalky Doosan Bears...
  • I'm not super confident on Woo Chan Cha and you aren't either, Ah Seop Son ($13) and Chi Hong An ($9) are two mid-tier pieces to include in your Giants stack along with studs J. Jeon ($13) and Dixon Machado ($10), who has definitely recovered after a poor start.
