TE Tyler Conklin has had an up-and-down first season with the New York Jets after signing a lucrative three-year deal with them this past offseason.
The team’s inconsistent QB play has made it difficult to predict when to start Conklin in fantasy football. His 5.9 fantasy points per game (Half-PPR) puts him at TE16 on the year.
What does that mean for Tyler Conklin in Week 17? Should you pick him up and start him in your fantasy championships?

What Did Tyler Conklin Do in Week 16 Fantasy Football?
Conklin struggled in a disastrous Week 16 for the Jets at home against the Jaguars. With QB Mike White sidelined due to concussion, New York turned to practice squad QB Chris Streveler under center in the second half after Zach Wilson struggled to move the offense yet again.
Conklin finished the day catching all of his four targets for 34 yards and a 13% target share. This was good enough for second on the team in receiving, outpacing breakout WR Garrett Wilson, who had a 3-for-30 receiving line.
What is Tyler Conklin’s Fantasy Football Outlook For Week 17?
The Jets are expected to have White back at QB this week in a juicy matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle is the number one easiest matchup for opposing fantasy TEs this season, allowing an average of 14.8 fantasy points per game to the position. The Seahawks have given up a minimum of 50 receiving yards or a touchdown to 12 different TEs on the year.
In three games with White under center this year, Conklin has seen an average of six targets per game. With the Jets looking to break their four-game losing skid, I expect them to come out passing with plenty of opportunities for White to connect with Conklin over the middle.
Should I Pickup Tyler Conklin Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?
Fantasy managers looking to pivot from Gerald Everett or Hunter Henry in their fantasy championships can do worse than Tyler Conklin this week.
In a favorable matchup with a capable QB under center again, Conklin has a high-end TE2 upside as a streamer this week.
