Fantasy Football Playoffs Wide Receiver Rankings Outlooks

Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was the leading receiver in Week 15, hauling in five of six targets for 55 yards in the 34-26 loss to the Green Bay Packers. In his first two games back, Reed has returned to his slot role in the offense and has played his traditional snap count at around 65%.

With Christian Watson's (chest) status unclear in Week 16, Reed could emerge as a fantasy asset against the Chicago Bears. Not only have the Bears allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season, but they have also allowed the most to slot receivers. With Watson unsure for Week 16 and the Bears' struggles without slot corner Kyler Gordon, Reed is a player to consider starting in the fantasy playoffs.

Luther Burden III, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury that caused him to miss practice on Tuesday ahead of Chicago's Week 16 matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. If Burden III can get back on the practice field and prove healthy enough to play, he could see his best opportunity of the season to make an impact in Chicago. Bears wideout Rome Odunze (foot) also missed practice on Tuesday and is considered week-to-week with a stress fracture in his foot.

With Odunze sidelined in Week 15, Burden III recorded six catches for 84 yards on seven targets despite being limited to just 29 offensive snaps due to the ankle injury. Burden III's role has been steadily growing over the second half of the season, as he's earned at least five straight targets in five straight games after failing to hit that mark in any of his first eight contests. Depending on Odunze's return timeline and his own health, Burden III could emerge as a league-winner over the final weeks of the fantasy season.

Jordan Whittington, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Jordan Whittington (back) could be worth a look on the waiver wire this week in deeper fantasy football formats, with Davante Adams (hamstring) up in the air to play on a short week this Thursday night against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks. Whittington also found himself on the Week 16 injury report, though, and was listed as limited during the team's walkthrough practice on Monday. The 25-year-old played a season-low four offensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions, but that could have been due to his back injury.

Whittington was targeted only once and failed to haul it in. He is probably a long shot for production this week against a tough Seattle defense, even if Adams is inactive, but he should be in on starting three-wide sets if he's on the field. Hurting Whittington's chances to make an impact is the fact that Tutu Atwell returned from IR last week.

Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts

In 44-year-old quarterback Philip Rivers' first NFL game in five years with the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the hosting Seattle Seahawks, wide receiver Josh Downs caught his lone touchdown pass. Downs played a season-high 72% of the offensive snaps in Week 15 in Rivers' first game replacing Daniel Jones, who is out for the year with a torn Achilles. The 24-year-old wideout was tied for second on the team with five targets, catching three of them for only 13 yards and his fourth touchdown of the year.

All in all, it wasn't anything special for fantasy football production, but it was notable that Downs tied Michael Pittman Jr. in targets, with Alec Pierce seeing just one look from Rivers. With Rivers' shotputting balls to his receivers, Downs could become a more attractive short-area target over Pierce to close out the season, making him worth a look off the waiver wire as WR depth. Downs is rostered in 43% of Yahoo leagues.

Chris Godwin, Jr., Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. has stepped back into a meaningful role after missing five games with a fibula injury earlier this season. Godwin has worked his way back into the mix, with 12 catches over the last three games for a total of 153 yards and a touchdown.

His touchdown came on Thursday Night Football against the Falcons in Week 15, when he hauled in four of his five targets for 20 yards. Godwin and the Bucs have a big divisional matchup against the Panthers this week in Week 16, and they'll meet again in Week 18. In between, they'll face the Dolphins, so Godwin has solid potential working out of the slot over the next few games. He clearly has the trust of Baker Mayfield and will continue to be a fringe PPR option for the next few weeks.

Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings scored two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-24 win over the Titans. Jennings' day was propped up by the scores as he finished with just three catches for 37 receiving yards on five targets. This fits the mold of a trend that has been in the works for the last several weeks. Jennings is now up to six touchdowns in the 49ers' last six games, but in that span, he has averaged 47.2 yards and 4.3 receptions per game, making his fantasy production extremely reliant on touchdowns.

Jennings may be in for a more balanced game in Week 16, when the 49ers face the Colts. Indianapolis has given up the most receptions and second-most receiving yards to opposing wide receivers in 2025. He projects as a WR2 candidate for the semi-final round of the fantasy football playoffs.
