Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers - Week 3

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Week 3 fantasy basketball streamers based on H2H 9-category leagues for the 2021-2022 NBA season. Keith Cork recommends guards, forwards and centers to target through waivers or free agency in fantasy leagues who may help in specific categories.

Rejoice, fantasy basketball fans of ALL records! There's still A LOT of season left, whether you dropped your opening matchups 0-9 or demolished the competition 9-0 thanks to our help! It's time for you to go through your "Team Stats" tab on Yahoo! and see where you stand in each of the nine categories. You can also toggle over to "Totals" on that tab to see where you stand in raw stats, and identify where you can make a difference by snagging one or two of these category streamers!

Over half of the teams have four games this week again, and all the rest of the teams have three games. That makes everybody viable, but we'll try to focus on the 4-game people for those of you who don't have many moves in your league.

Our staff at RotoBaller has great insight and daily columns on how to improve your squad and tips to make your team successful, so be sure to check them out! Now, let's get prepared for the upcoming week. All players in this article are rostered at 50 percent or less.

Week 3 Standard 9-Category Leagues

Columns are written based on H2H 9-category standard size leagues:

FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE

Hassan Whiteside - PF/C - Utah Jazz (34% rostered)

The Jazz are on a four-game week and Hassan Whiteside is worth a look as a center that is getting 15-18 minutes a night behind Rudy Gobert. He shouldn't hurt you anywhere, but even in this limited role, he is a great add for field goal percentage and blocks for teams in need.

Other streamers:

FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

Luke Kennard - SG/SF - Los Angeles Clippers (11% rostered)

Luke Kennard has topped 30 minutes in two straight games as the Clippers search for answers on the offensive end. He's worth a look right now for teams in search of points, threes, and free throw percentage. The last two games also happened to be big losses for the Clippers though, so be ready to drop him should his role slip down to the 20-minute mark again.

Other streamers:

POINTS

Franz Wagner - SG/SF - Orlando Magic (44% rostered)

The risk here is that we have yet to see how Chuma Okeke fits into the rotation once he's back and completely healthy, but Franz Wagner has been playing pretty well for the Orlando Magic and I find it hard to believe they're just going to just bench him because Okeke is back. He's a hold for now if you have him and he's likely worth your last roster spot to see how this all shakes out. He's averaging a useful 13.9 points per game right now.

Other streamers:

  • Eric Gordon - SG/SF - Houston Rockets (20% rostered)
  • Lonnie Walker IV - SG/SF - San Antonio Spurs (35% rostered)
  • Grayson Allen - SG/SF - Milwaukee Bucks (39% rostered)
  • Anfernee Simons - PG/SG - Portland Trail Blazers (15% rostered)

THREE-POINTERS

Grayson Allen - SG/SF - Milwaukee Bucks (39% rostered)

Jrue Holiday will return any day now, but even when he does Grayson Allen is worth a spot for teams in need of threes. He hasn't shot any less than eight of them in any single game this season, which is high enough volume that he's virtually a lock to contribute three or more a game. With three games this week, that's a guaranteed nine three-pointers that you can count on.

Other streamers:

  • Luke Kennard - SG/SF - Los Angeles Clippers (11% rostered)
  • Patty Mills - PG - San Antonio Spurs (39% rostered)
  • Anfernee Simons - PG/SG - Portland Trail Blazers (15% rostered)
  • Lonnie Walker IV - SG/SF - San Antonio Spurs (35% rostered)

REBOUNDS

Precious Achiuwa - SF/PF - Toronto Raptors (41% rostered)

Precious Achiuwa is topping this list again, but be aware that Pascal Siakam has been making his way back onto the roster in the last few days. If you get news that he's going to be playing in any game this week, feel free to cut ties with Precious and instead go get one of the other guys on this list.

Other streamers:

  • JaVale McGee - C - Phoenix Suns (4% rostered)
  • Hassan Whiteside - PF/C - Utah Jazz (34% rostered)
  • Darius Bazley - SF/PF - Oklahoma City Thunder (32% rostered)
  • Dorian Finney-Smith - SF/PF - Dallas Mavericks (23% rostered)
  • Nicolas Batum - SF/PF - Los Angeles Clippers (10% rostered)

ASSISTS

Jalen Brunson - PG/SG - Dallas Mavericks (37% rostered)

Coach Jason Kidd said he wanted to get Luka Doncic off the ball more this season and the biggest beneficiary of that shift has been Jalen Brunson. He's averaging 5.2 assists per game (before Sunday's game) and does enough of everything to warrant a roster spot on your fantasy team. If your team is weak in assists, you can't do any better.

Other streamers:

STEALS

Alex Caruso - PG/SG - Chicago Bulls (46% rostered)

Alex Caruso is the clear add from the Patrick Williams injury as he should be a lock for 25+ minutes nightly. That will have him doing enough to warrant a roster spot, but he'll especially be helpful to teams that need the help in steals. He's averaging 2.7 per game early in the season, which is sure to regress, but he has a real shot at putting up two per game on average. Go get him if he's on your waiver wire.

Other streamers:

  • Matisse Thybulle - SG/SF - Philadelphia 76ers (37% rostered)
  • Eric Bledsoe - PG/SG - Los Angeles Clippers (45% rostered)
  • Royce O'Neale - SF/PF - Utah Jazz (26% rostered)
  • Terance Mann - SF - Los Angeles Clippers (27% rostered)

BLOCKS

Matisse Thybulle - SG/SF - Philadelphia 76ers (37% rostered)

Let me take a minute to wax poetic about Matisse Thybulle. Okay, I'm not actually going to do that. However, if you need a streamer for defensive stats, he's great in both steals and blocks. As long as Ben Simmons is out, he is a wonderful option to bolster those two statistical categories for your team. If Simmons returns or the Sixers pull off a long-awaited trade, he might lose some value. Until then, have at him!
