DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/7/16): MLB DFS Advice

Another full Saturday is on tap today with a mix of afternoon, evening, and late night games going on. There is a chance for some weather, particularly in the middle of the country, so keep an eye on that before finalizing your lineup.

Some of the most expensive pitchers in the game are on the board today. Spending big at pitcher forces you to find hidden value elsewhere, and there's also plenty of that today.

Several hitters are hot right now and make for some great DFS targets.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/7/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Boston Red Sox vs. Nathan Eovaldi (RHP)

Nathan Eovaldi, like the rest of the Yankees, has struggled to start the season. Right now he's sitting with a record of 1-2 and an ERA of 5.46. Although it will be a righty vs. righty matchup, Dustin Pedroia has five hits, including a home run, in nine at-bats against Eovaldi. Hanley Ramirez has also had success, hitting .375 with a homer against the New York right-hander. Lefties David Ortiz and Jackie Bradley Jr. also make good stacking options today.

Texas Rangers vs. Mike Pelfrey (RHP)

Pelfrey has had a very rough start to the season. He's given up five runs in back-to-back starts and has an 0-4 record with a 5.68 ERA. Several Rangers have hit the ball well against him in the past and make for a good stacking option today. Prince Fielder, Ian Desmond, and Adrian Beltre should all be part of a lineup stack.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

David Price, BOS at NYY - $10,800

For the same reasons mentioned above that make the Red Sox a good stack against the struggling Yankees, David Price is a good starting pitcher option. Yes, his 6.14 is unbelievably high for an ace, but he's managed four wins and has yet to be hit with a loss. The Yankees don't have anyone scary in their lineup, and Price has held current New York hitters to a career .268 average. Despite the high ERA, Price has still shown he can rack up strikeouts, picking up 14 in a start against the Braves on April 26.

Chris Sale, CHW vs. MIN - $12,900

Sale has been lights-out this season, putting up a record of 6-0 with an impressive 1.66 ERA. He allowed three runs in each of his first two starts, but has allowed just two runs in his last four starts. The Twins struggle to hit the ball, plus Sale is at home, making him a top pitching target Saturday.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Ryan Hanigan, BOS at NYY- $2,400

Hanigan hasn't been worth a look on DraftKings this year, as he's only hitting .176 on the season. However, if you're playing today you're going to want to find someone who will likely have a super-low ownership number. He has one hit in two at-bats against starter Nathan Eovaldi and could be a super sleeper today. It's certainly a stretch, but spending minimal cap space on Hanigan won' require him to do much more than a hit in order to get you some value.

First Base (1B)

David Ortiz, BOS at NYY - $5,000

Sticking with the strong stack play today, Ortiz is an obvious choice at first base. He's been nailing the ball this season, hitting for both power and average. He's turned the clock back a bit and is showing that even at his advanced age he can be a dominant hitter. He went yard Friday night and will look to continue his hitting against the Yankees today, as he's got four hits in eight at-bats versus Eovaldi.

Second Base (2B)

Brandon Phillips, CIN vs. MIL - $3,500

Phillips is another value pick who has quietly put together a solid season thus far. He's no longer the stolen base threat that he used to be, he's got an impressive OPS and has done an impressive job of getting on base. He's got a lifetime .333 average against today's starter Jimmy Nelson and makes for a solid play on DraftKings.

Shortstop (SS)

Aledmys Diaz, PIT at STL - $3,600

In today's world of young shortstops, Diaz fits right in. The rookie has shown a knack for getting on base, hitting for average, racking up an OPS over 1.000, and showing some power. Again, with plenty of options across the board tonight, Diaz is a good target who should bring low ownership.

Third Base (3B)

Adrian Beltre, TEX at DET - $3,600

With Mike Pelfrey starting for the Tigers today, Adrian Beltre, among some of his other teammates, makes for a good play. Pelfrey has really struggled this season and has struggled getting outs. The third baseman has three hits in eight at-bats, including a homer against Pelfrey.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Mike Trout, LAA vs. TB - $4,900

Trout has been tearing the cover off the ball this season, especially recently. He's been doing it all so far, getting on base, hitting for average, as well as knocking the ball over the fence. He's only faced today's startrer Jake Odorizzi three times, but was able to collect two hits, including a double against him.

Mark Trumbo, BAL vs OAK - $4,100

When Baltimore signed Trumbo in the offseason it was expected that he could see an uptick in production. However, his current numbers have to be surprising to most. He's slashing .324/.372/.581 and has belted eight home runs. His career numbers tell us that he likely won't keep the current production up, but for now he makes an excellent option for daily lineups. He's been producing in pretty much every game and will look to continue that against Oakland today.

Charlie Blackmon, COL at SF- $3,200

If you go with the high-priced pitchers today you are going to have to spend cheaply elsewhere. Charlie Blackmon makes an excellent target today considering that his price tag is still just $3,200 since he recently returned from injury. He got the night off last night, so should be rested for today. Since returning to the lineup, Blackmon is 8-28 with two doubles and a home run.
