DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (4/20/16): MLB DFS Advice

Demetri Raftopoulos highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 4/20/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings MLB DFS lineups.

Pitchers can make or break your night, on the field and for Daily Fantasy lineups. It's a no brainer to target guys like Clayton Kershaw and Chris Sale, but if you can avoid breaking the bank on a pitcher, then that's what you should do.

Drafting affordable pitchers who have favorable matchups will free up cap space for the expensive hitters, those capable of hitting home runs and driving in runs on any given night.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/20/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

New York Mets versus Jeremy Hellickson

It's always fun hitting at Citizens Bank Park. Pitching there on the other hand isn't always so enjoyable. After two solid starts on the road, Hellickson was lit up at home in his last start against the Washington Nationals. We can expect the Mets to beat up on the Phillies, again, and get to Hellickson early. My top stack options here are Lucas Duda, Yoenis Cespedes, and David Wright.

Los Angeles Dodgers versus the Atlanta Braves

The Dodgers can potentially dodge Julio Teheran, the Braves best pitcher, this series completely as his start is pushed back due to an illness. Whether he can pitch on Wednesday or not is still in question, but what's certain is that he'll miss Tuesday's start. It hasn't been announced who will start in his place but the Dodgers certainly have the edge batting at Turner Field. My favorite options here are Justin Turner, Yasiel Puig, and Joc Pederson.

*Also consider the Washington Nationals versus Wei-Yin Chen (Who aren't the Nationals beating up on these days?)

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jeff Locke (at SD, $6,600)

Locke is searching for his first win of the season, and draws a pretty favorable matchup against the San Diego Padres. The Padres are in the bottom 10 of total home runs and batting average. Locke has pitched well in his first two starts, better in his first, but hasn't received much run support from his offense. Locke needs to limit the walks after allowing a bloated seven in his last start, and rely more on the ground ball to coast versus the Padres.

Ross Stripling (at ATL, $6,400)

The Atlanta Braves don't score a lot of runs, and own a dismal .208 team batting average, the second worst in Major League Baseball. Stripling is also still looking for his first win of the season, and has pitched very well in his first two starts of the season, including his hitless debut over 7.1 innings of impressive work. He could add about four to five strikeouts to his line and has a very good chance of earning his first win against the Braves.

Also consider Bartolo Colon versus the Philadelphia Phillies

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Brian McCann (vs OAK, $3,800)

McCann has had success against Oakland's starter for Wednesday night, Kendall Graveman. The Yankees catcher has three hits in three at-bats versus Graveman, including one home run and two RBI. McCann has cooled off a bit since his hot start but is still always one of the top catcher options every night.

First Base (1B)

Lucas Duda (at PHI, $4,100)

Duda has hit a home run in back-to-back games and is really starting to find his groove early in the 2016 season. Citizens Bank is always a great place to swing the bat. Look for Duda to continue his hot hitting.

Second Base (2B)

Jose Altuve (at TEX, $4,700)

As it is for Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals, it has been very difficult to stay away from Altuve in Daily Fantasy, despite his high price. Altuve has hit Cole Hamels exceptionally well, batting .500 against the Rangers ace in his career. Global Life Park in Arlington has been the home for the most home runs per game so far this season. Altuve has hit five long balls, including four over his last six games.

Shortstop (SS)

Marcus Semien (vs NYY, $3,400)

Semien has already gone deep four times this season, and heads into another game at Yankees Stadium; one of the most hitter-friendly ball parks in the league. Semien has also tallied three hits in five AB's against Nathan Eovaldi. He's affordable and could give your lineup a big boost with one swing of the bat.

Third Base (3B)

Justin Turner (at ATL, $3,300)

Turner has started the 2016 season slow, and hasn't hit a home run after hitting a career-high 16 last year. An average of 2.2 home runs have been hit a night at Turner Field this season, and could be the location where Turner finally goes deep.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Yasiel Puig (at ATL, $3,900)

Puig is off to a solid start, and could easily take advantage of Turner Field's generosity.

Yoenis Cespedes (at PHI, $4,500)

Cespedes is a key part of the New York Mets stack against the Phillies as he's had a lot of success against Jeremy Hellickson in the past. Cespedes has four hits in nine at-bats against Hellickson, including one home run and two ribbies. He too should take advantage of the ball park he's visiting.

Joc Pederson (at ATL, $3,600)

Pederson is the final piece of the stack against the Atlanta Braves. Pederson has improved greatly against righties this season, batting .281. He is a consistent power threat and is even more affective for Daily Fantasy lineups when he limits the strikeouts.
