DraftKings Lineup Picks & Sleepers (4/29/17): MLB DFS Advice

JB's DraftKings analysis and advice. The top MLB DFS lineup picks on for 4/29/17, as well as a couple of sleepers for daily fantasy baseball rosters.

Welcome to another full-slate Saturday of MLB DFS. Today we have a seven game Early slate, with an eight game Main slate. Unfortunately, there are quite a few weather concerns on the forecast. CWS-DET, CIN-STL, SEA-CLE, MIN-KC, and LAA-TEX all have decent chances of rain and/or thunderstorms at game time. So today will be one of those- check the weather app/site multiple times before lineup lock kind of days. However, if something does go awry, all three west coast games should be nice and dry for a late-swap pivot.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/29/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings.

You can read our FanDuel and Yahoo DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @RowdyRotoJB.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Jaime Garcia (LHP)

Who the heck wants to face the Brew Crew right now? Over the last seven days, MIL owns the sixth highest OPS in the league. It's like watching a HR derby every night with this squad. Today they draw a match-up with southpaw Jaime Garcia in front of the home crowd. Garcia has not been good on the road this season and against LHP this year, the Brewers have the second best OPS. Braun and Thames are costly but are must-haves today even despite Brauns lowly career numbers versus Garcia. Luckily the rest of the RHB on the team are very affordable and you get to pick from a plethora of options including Jonathan Villar, Hernan Perez, Keon Broxton, Domingo Santana, and even whatever hot catcher they roll out there.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Bronson Arroyo (RHP)

The Cardinal bats are finally waking up, and the team now owns the third highest OPS in the league over the last seven days. They have not played very well at Busch Stadium so far this season, but can crush RHP, and Bronson Arroyo will give up plenty of runs regardless of stadium. This is a much more affordable stack than the more popular Nationals or Indians on DraftKings today, and I will gladly utilize Aledmys Diaz, Dexter Fowler, Matt Carpenter, and even Matt Adams if he is in the lineup.

Also Consider: Washington Nationals vs Zack Wheeler; Cleveland Indians vs Yovanni Gallardo (if you can afford them)

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Stephen Strasburg, WSH vs NYM  ($11,600)

He is going to hurt your wallet today, but Stras is in a great spot today. Despite Scherzer's struggles against them, the Mets have the third lowest OPS over the last seven days, and the third lowest OPS versus RHP for the season. Yoenis Cespedes is on the shelf, and Stras has gotten better in each of his four starts this month. In his last outing against the Braves, he recorded 10 strikeouts and 31 FP. Since he is slightly cheaper than Yu Darvish, and has no weather concerns over his head, Stras is my top choice on DraftKings today.

Steven Wright, BOS vs CHC ($6,300)- GPP/Contrarian

Okay so we know for a fact Steven Wright should not be rostered when facing the Orioles. But other than that, knuckle-ball pitchers are about as unpredictable as the sport gets. Wright did pitch a decent game against the Rays in-between the two Baltimore duds, earning 17.5 FP. Today the Sox are at home against the defending world champions. Wright's ownership percentages will be next to zero. The Cubs have a lot of young bats, and are very prone to strikeouts, which could lead to a long night against the knuckle ball. Tournaments are taken down by some bold picks. Today, Wright could be that pick.

Also Consider: Danny Salazar vs SEA ($9,800); Phil Hughes at KAN ($6,500)

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Jett Bandy, MIL vs ATL ($2,700)

Part of my suggested Brewers stack, Bandy crushes southpaws. He has only received six AB against LHP in 2017, but has recorded five hits, three going for extra bases. Garcia is allowing a .507 SLG to right handed batters, making Bandy a steal at this price. Unfortunately teammate Manny Pina sat out last night's game, meaning he could be given the nod behind the plate for today's game over Bandy. If that is the case, just swap Pina's name in to this recommendation. He is even the same price.

First Base (1B)

Wil Myers, SDP at SFG ($4,300)

Matt Cain has pitched very well this season. I know, I am as shocked as you are. But he left his last start with hamstring tightness and he is still Matt Cain. Wil Myers has a very nice price tag today, as he is hitting .324 with a .608 SLG against RHP in 2017. He has also hit better away from Petco to no surprise. Take advantage of this price today, because it won't stay south of 4,500 for long.

Second Base (2B)

Josh Harrison, PIT at MIA ($3,400)

Harrison hasn't been getting much attention, but he has nine hits in his last five games. He is becoming a must-start against lefties, but today faces RHP Dan Straily who is coming off a 14 strikeout gem, hopefully keeping Harrison's ownership percentage very low. For his career against Straily, he is 4-12, but more importantly has two HR. The RHP split difference knocks him out of my cash consideration, but I like Harrison for a low-cost GPP play today while he's on a hot streak.

Shortstop (SS)

Zack Cozart, CIN at STL  ($3,400)

I love the value for Cozart today, as no shortstop in the league has a higher OPS against RHP. Mike Leake has been very effective to start the 2017 campaign, but Cozart is 5-10 with two doubles against him lifetime. The power hasn't there thus far, but Cozart is still hitting .393, making him a great cash option today.

Third Base (3B)

Mike Moustakas, KC vs MIN  ($3,100)

The Royals offense has been absolutely atrocious in 2017, but that won't stop me from taking Moose against Phil Hughes for only 3,100. He already has six HR against RHP this year, with a .679 SLG. Hughes has been effective this month, but is not missing many bats, meaning the probability of the Moose squaring up a ball today is very high.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Andrew Benintendi, BOS vs CHC  ($3,900)

Benintendo64 hit his second HR of the year last night, and is now hitting .329 with an impressive .400 OBP. Today the Sox get a juicy match-up against John Lackey, who has given up five HR through four starts and owns a 6.00 ERA away from Wrigley Field. Expect a high scoring affair from the Boston bats tonight, with Benintendi getting plenty of scoring opportunities hitting from the two hole.

Hernan Perez, MIL vs ATL  ($3,600)

Perez is absolutely on fire. Over the last seven days, the man is 6-11 with two HR, two triples, and a double. Against LHP in 2017, he is 6-15 with three XBH. Perez is another cheap option to include in the Brew Crew stack to help you afford Braun and Thames.

Khris Davis, OAK at HOU  ($4,000)

Few players in the league have hit the ball harder against RHP this year than K Davis. He is rocking a 51.4 Hard% against righties to go along with a blistering .345 ISO. He left the yard twice last night in the series opener with the Astros, and todays pitcher Joe Musgrove (5.91 ERA, 1.56 WHIP) doesn't have the stuff to prevent it from happening again today.
