Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Tuesday 8/24

Jazz Chisholm - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 8/24/21. Mike Marteny identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for a lackluster start by Kyle Hendricks last night, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We have seven pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Six more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us with a little more than half of the pitchers taking the bump today to choose from.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 8/24 - Shallow Leagues

Jazz Chisholm (2B/SS, LHB, MIA) - 49.6% Rostered

Matchup: vs. WAS RHP Erick Fedde

Chisholm was in my article all weekend against the Reds. If you jumped in on Friday, he gave you a homer, three runs scored, four RBI, and two steals over the three game series. He doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon and is leading off for a Marlins offense that isn't as bad as most think. There's still some counting stats hidden in this pickup, especially against the struggling Nationals pitching staff.

Kolten Wong (2B, LHB, MIL) - 45.7% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CIN RHP Tyler Mahle

Here we have another hot hitter leading off for a solid lineup. Wong is hitting .429 in the last week with a homer, five runs scored, seven RBI, and a steal. He is contributing in every category right now at a notoriously weak position.

Myles Straw (OF, RHB, CLE) - 42.6% Rostered

Matchup: vs. TEX LHP Taylor Hearn

Straw doesn't offer much in the way of power. However, Straw is leading off against lefties and is hitting .333 with three RBI, eight runs scored, and a pair of steals in the last ten days. If you're behind in steals, Straw is an elite pickup.

Ian Happ (OF, LHB, CHC) - 35.1% Rostered

Matchup: vs. COL RHP German Marquez

I don't often go after a pitcher like Marquez, but when I do, it's with a guy on an epic heater like Happ. Happ is hitting a blistering .474 with two homers, three RBI, and four runs scored in the last week. If his teammates were struggling so badly, Happ could have about ten RBI in the week. That's how well he's hitting right now. If anyone gets to Marquez, it will certainly be Happ and probably not anyone else.

Hitter Streamers for 8/24 - Deeper Leagues

Frank Schwindel (1B, RHB, CHC) - 22.4% Rostered

Matchup: vs. COL RHP German Marquez

Since taking over full-time for Anthony Rizzo on August 1, Schwindel is hitting .393 with four homers, 11 runs scored, and 15 RBI. He saw his hitting streak come to an end against the Royals, but Schwindel still has hits in each of the last two games and has three of those homers and 12 of the RBI in the last ten games. The counting stats are suffering because of the struggling offense around him, but Schwindel is just hitting well enough to consider against a good pitcher like Marquez.

Nicky Lopez (2B/SS, LHB, KC) - 21% Rostered

Matchup: at HOU RHP Luis Garcia

Lopez has been a beacon on a team full of average-at-best players of late. He is hitting .407 with a homer, five RBI, six runs scored, and eight stolen bases in the last ten days alone! I know I said Straw in an elite pickup for steals, but Lopez is just as good, if not better because of position scarcity. Lopez has swiped three bags in the last three games. He can win you steals by himself right now!

Daulton Varsho (C/OF, LHB, ARI) - 15.1% Rostered

Matchup: at PIT RHP JT Brubaker

Varsho is 6-for-12 with three homers, four runs scored, and six RBI in just the last three games alone. He'll start against every righty down the stretch and is an elite play for power against this entire pitching staff. Lock and load!

Jake Meyers (OF, RHB, HOU) - 10.3% Rostered

Matchup: vs. KC RHP Brady Singer

Meyers has three homers and 10 RBI in the last ten games for the Astros while sporting a .338 average. He has filled in admirably for Kyle Tucker. Roll him out there for as long as he keeps starting. Meyers has shown good power early in his major league career.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/24 - Shallow Leagues

Dylan Bundy (RHP, LAA) - 35.7% rostered

Matchup: at Baltimore

This is almost entirely matchup-based. My fingers threw up a little bit on the keyboard typing this. Bundy has managed to only allow 12 hits in 19.1 innings since returning to the rotation on July 29. The bad news is that walks still sometimes get him in trouble. Still, Bundy has allowed a respectable eight runs in those four starts and has picked up 14 strikeouts. Again, these are pedestrian numbers, but the Orioles are one of the worst offenses in the league and have been for much of the season. If Bundy is ever worth taking a chance on, it's here.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/24 - Deeper Leagues

Griffin Jax (RHP, MIN) - 9.2% rostered

Matchup: at Boston

You have to have some stones to run Jax, but do you want a guy who at least has as shot at a win? Ranger Suarez, Taylor Hearn, and Drew Rasmussen all have good numbers over the last month, but they have only gone five innings in a start once combined between the three of them. Jax has cleared five innings in each of his last four starts while only allowing seven runs in 22.1 innings. The 15 strikeouts are solid, but ten of those were against the White Sox. Jax has done well with limiting damage lately, and I'm chasing wins over ratios early in the week.
