BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: Risky, high-upside RB2/FLEX option (PPR formats)
ANALYSIS: Brian Robinson Jr. missed practice all week because of a bum hamstring. Although most fantasy managers knew he likely wouldn't play in the Week 15 meeting with the Rams, things were made official when the Commanders officially ruled him out on Friday. Without Robinson in the equation, Gibson should see more work than rookie Chris Rodriguez Jr. on Sunday, making him the No. 1 option out of the backfield. But can he be trusted to fill the void left by Robinson?
Without question, Gibson has had some potent fantasy showings over the years. On the other hand, he's had just as many unproductive outings. But the 25-year-old still has a higher ceiling than most backups, even against a formidable Rams run-stop unit.
Unfortunately, Washington hasn't leaned heavily on the run game during the 2023-24 campaign, so Gibson's value in standard scoring systems is limited. However, he's demonstrated his pass-catching acumen throughout the season, making him a risky, high-upside option in 12-team (and up) PPR formats.
