German Marquez Earns Ninth Win Of The Year
German Marquez earned the win on Saturday when he allowed two runs on four hits with four walks and seven strikeouts over six innings in a 5-3 win over the Padres. Marquez did a solid job limiting the Padres offense despite issuing four walks. He allowed a two-run homer to Jake Cronenworth in the bottom of the third inning, which accounted for the only runs against him. Marquez even helped his own cause in this one, hitting a solo home run. He's now earned a quality start in 12-of-15 games and owns a 3.51 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 134:48 K/BB ratio over 130 2/3 innings (22 starts). He gets the Marlins at home in his next turn.
