Chris Paddack To Kick Off Second Half On Friday
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Chris Paddack will take the mound on Friday for the team's first game out of the All-Star break. Paddack started off the year doing well over his first nine starts, posting a 3.61 ERA and 20.6 percent strikeout rate over 42 1/3 innings of work. However over his last 10 appearances now, he's gone 2-3 with a 7.53 ERA and 1.615 WHIP over 34 2/3 innings of work. Until he shows a bounce back on the mound, managers should avoid starting Paddack unless he gets a favorable matchup — and the Nationals do not appear to be a good matchup for him on Friday.
