DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/3/21): MLB DFS Lineups

Shohei Ohtani - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/3/21. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We've got a chopped up Saturday slate on tap for us. There's a turbo slate for the two-game matinee, an early slate for the six-game afternoon slate. I will concentrate on the seven-game "main" slate in the evening. My friend at Rotoballer will have the earlier slates covered, so we've got your back for an entire day of baseball!

There may be a few showers hanging around the Washington D.C. area, but it shouldn't be enough to cause more than a short delay. The game should start and finish without much of an issue. It will be a little humid in Washington, but the wind and weather aren't enough to take the title of best hitting weather away from Denver or Phoenix. It's a hitter's paradise again in both places.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/3/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Clayton Kershaw - LAD at WAS ($10,000)

Kershaw has looked almost mortal on the road this year with a 4-4 record and a 3.86 ERA. Still, he has only allowed seven runs over 26 innings with 38 strikeouts in his last four starts after getting knocked around by the Braves and Giants in back-to-back starts after Memorial Day. Kershaw racked up 26.5 DraftKings points against Washington earlier this season. It wouldn't be out of the question for him to do it again.

Marco Gonzales - SEA vs. TEX ($7,700)

Yeah, Gallo might smack Marco, but so what? Gonzales has always been a much better pitcher at home with a career ERA .67 runs lower at home. The splits are even more pronounced this year with Gonzales's 3.81 home ERA being close to his career mark, but that 6.98 road ERA is dragging his stats down. The knock on Gonzales is that he doesn't rack up a bunch of strikeouts, but Texas whiffs 25.6% of the time against lefties. There is decent potential here at possibly low ownership.

Other Options: Jake Odorizzi ($8,600), Cole Irvin ($7,900), Paolo Espino ($7,000)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Elias Diaz - C, COL vs. STL ($4,400)

Diaz has hit five of his six homers on the season in the last ten games, including one in each of the last four. If he's in the lineup, ride the hot stick. Diaz is 8-14 with two doubles, four runs, four homers, and six RBI in the current homestand already. Just like his teammates, Diaz is a formidable hitter up in the thin air.

C.J. Cron - 1B, COL vs. STL ($5,300)

Cron has hit nine of his 11 homers this season at Coors Field and driven in 27 of his 32 runs there. Those splits are staggering, especially considering he has only played three more home games than road games this year. As you may expect, the average splits are just as egregious. Cron is hitting .289 in Coors compared to just .207 on the road and has averaged more than double the DraftKings points per home game than road games. He hit three homers in Coors Field last week. He already has one of this homestand and hit two homers off of Wade LeBlanc in the only game in which he faced him.

Jed Lowrie - 2B, OAK vs. BOS ($3,900)

It has been easy to forget about Lowrie this season. After all, he drove in just seven runs in the entire month of June. However, he is showing signs of life lately. Lowrie is hitting .323 with a pair of homers, six runs scored, and five RBI in the last ten games. Garrett Richards last recorded a quality start over a month ago on the First of June and hasn't given up less than four runs in a start since the Sixth. Advantage: Lowrie.

Jose Ramirez - 3B, CLE vs. HOU ($5,200)

The Indians said that he may be available to pinch hit yesterday, so he should be back in the lineup today. I sure hope so since he has three career homers against Jake Odorizzi in only 23 at bats. Ramirez is hitting 37 points higher at home than on the road this year. It is worth noting that Odorizzi hasn't been going deep into games lately. He hasn't come back out for the sixth inning since May 29. Still, Ramirez has about a 30% chance of a homer if he gets two at-bats against Odorizzi.

J.P. Crawford - SS, SEA vs. TEX ($3,700)

Crawford has at least one hit in all but one game since June 13, but he has reached base in all of those. He has seven hits in his last three games and two of his five homers on the season have come against the Texas Rangers. Any questions?

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Shohei Ohtani - OF, LAA vs. BAL ($6,100)

There's hot, then there's Ohtani. He has six homers in his last five games and 13 homers in his last 15. Yeah, Jorge Lopez hasn't been all that bad, but he hasn't been good either. He has allowed 17 runs in 20 innings over his last four starts with four homers allowed. With the way Ohtani is hitting, I'm making the not-so-bold prediction that that number will increase tonight.

Joey Gallo - OF, TEX at SEA ($4,300)

Gallo's homer streak ended at five games last night, but he has a good chance to start a new one here. Lefties have hit Marco Gonzales better than righties in his career and Gallo is no exception. Gallo is 6-18 with two homers and seven RBI in his career against Gonzales. This seems like a very reasonable price to pay for him here.

Myles Straw - OF, HOU at CLE ($2,900)

I know. You're looking to get some pieces of the Houston offense against Cleveland rookie Eli Morgan and that 9.37 ERA, but they're just so damn expensive! Straw can help alleviate that. He is hitting .361 with a homer, eight walks, seven runs scored, four RBI, and three steals in the last ten games. Oh, and he has struck out just five times in 11 games. Straw is a cheap piece of a very potent offense that has been on base at least once in all but one game in the last two weeks.
