FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/3/16): MLB DFS Advice

Chris Durell highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 9/3/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your FanDuel MLB DFS lineups

Welcome back to another full Saturday of daily fantasy baseball. Today we have a split slate with four early and 11 evening games. Both slates have elite pitching options mixed in with some nice value options and another day with a high run projection in Coors Field. Let's take a look at a few top plays at each position. If you are wanting to play the All Day slate it id best to play on DraftKings where you can utilize the late swap feature.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/3/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. Premium DFS lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more - seven days a week. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Colorado Rockies vs. Braden Shipley (Diamondbacks)

Once again the Rockies are the top stacking option tonight. They are currently -140 favorites at home in Coors Field and projected to score close to six runs tonight. The over is definitely a good bet tonight as they face of against Braden Shipley. His rookie season has been less than impressive with a strikeout rate(4.97 K/9) thatis very close to his walk rate(3.89 BB/9). Combine that with a 16% HR/FB rate and you have trouble brewing in Denver. Target the top of the Rockies order tonight.

Minnesota Twins vs. James Shields (White Sox)

This stack is more about how bad James Shields has been than how good the Twins have been lately. Since the beginning of August(six starts) Shields has an absolutely awful 11.42 ERA which is a direct result of his 28% HR/FB rate. While those numbers are just not sustainable over the long run, something appears to be off for Shields and he should be targeted heavily. The top option to build your stack around is leadoff hitter Brian Dozier who has recorded nine hits(two home runs) in 24 career at bats against Shields.

Also Consider - Toronto Blue Jays vs. Blake Snell (Rays)

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jose Fernandez (SP, MIA) $10,900

Fernandez comes in as the top pitcher on the entire slate Saturday. As of writing this the Marlins are slight -110 favorites on the road in Cleveland which says a lot about Fernandez as the Indians have scored the 6th most runs in all of baseball this season. He catches the Indians at the right time as they have struggled over the last 14 days with a .299 wOBA(22nd best in bseball). Since the All Star break Fernandez has had some bad luck with wins going 2-3 in eight starts but pitched to an elite 12.36 K/9 rate and 2.75 xFIP. He is safe in all formats.

Ivan Nova (SP, PIT) $7,300

If you are after the bats tonight take a look at Ivan Nova who makes a great play in any format today. He has safety in cash games with 30+ FanDuel points in eight of his last nine starts. In five August starts he went 4-0 and while the strikeout rate is below average(6.23 K/9) he pitched to a 2.87 ERA and very supportive 3.44 xFIP. His K rate should receive a boost today as the Brewers have struck out at 29.8% clip over the last 14 days.

Also Consider - Marco Estrada (SP, TOR) $8,000

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Salvador Perez (C, KC) $3,100

Perez went in to Friday's action as the hottest catcher in baseball over the past seven days with an insane .529 wOBA and 240 wRC+ with three home runs. He comes at a very reasonable price and is safe option in any format.

Paul Goldschmidt (1B, ARI) $4,800

It's pretty cut and dry at first base tonight. Pay up for Goldy. He is one of the best hitters in baseball slashing .302/.419/.498 this season and gets a big bump playing in Coors Field. There are safer options for cash games that allow more flexibility but no one has more upside for tournaments tonight.

Josh Harrison (2B, PIT) $3,000

Since the beginning of August when he was moved into the leadoff spot he is hitting .297 with 13 RBI, 12 runs scored and five stolen bases on eight attempts. The percentage is't great but it's positive to see the run game in high gear. At $3,000 in a nice matchup vs. Jimmy Nelson(4.86 xFIP), Harrrison is safe option in any format.

Carlos Correa (SS, HOU) $4,100

With Coors stacks being popular tonight a nice contrarian approach is paying up for a bat in another matchup. Correa is at the top of my list of no Coors bats tonight as he is running an eight game hit streak and has picked up five hits(two home runs) in eight at bats against Derek Holland.

Adrian Beltre (3B, TEX) $3,400

If it's consistency you are looking for Beltre makes a terrific option in cash games. Only once in his last 24 games has he not recorded a FanDuel point. During that time he has put up an elite .376/.454/.753 slash line with nine home runs and a 215 wRC+.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Mike Trout (OF, LAA) $4,500

As the most expensive option at the position he isn't exactly viable for cash games but makes a great tournament play that could go low owned. Don't fade the best hitter in baseball right now as he has recorded hits in eight of his last 10 games including four, three hits games. He has also destroyed young Walker in his career with eight hits in 10 at bats including  two home runs.

Ender Inciarte (OF, ATL) $3,200

The Braves leadoff hitter has been elite in the second half challenging the best hitters in baseball with a .363/.419/.475 slash line. He enters Saturday's matchup with an 11 game hit streak and is the perfect cash game play as he has only gone three games in his last 44 without a hit.

Kevin Pillar (OF, TOR) $2,800

If you are looking for an all out punt play in the outfield consider Pillar today. He has positive splits vs. left handed pitching and has recorded a hit in eight of his last 10 games with four extra base hits. HE has a nice floor for cash games and sneaky power and speed, providing some upside for tournaments.
