DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (7/31/16): MLB DFS Advice

Barry Leonard Jr. highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 7/31/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings MLB DFS lineups.

If you're a daily fantasy baseball player like me, then you love Sundays. Once 1:00 ET rolls around, there are games all day and plenty of contests to participate in on DraftKings. In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/31/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

The targets listed below are to be used for an all day lineup. You can certainly mix and match them with your own picks if you are doing any of the contests that don't use every game. Just be sure to double check the weather, as rain could threaten several cities.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Miami Marlins vs. Carlos Martinez (RHP)

Martinez has had a decent year, posting a record of 10-6 with a 2.87 ERA. However, while those are good numbers, he's worth stacking the Marlins against today. Current Miami hitters have an overall lifetime average of .317 against him. Dee Gordon, Adeiny Hechavarria, and Christian Yelich have had the best success against Martinez. Giancarlo Stanton has been playing well recently and should also be part of a stack today.

LA Dodgers vs. Patrick Corbin (LHP)

The Dodgers are once again worth a stack, this time facing off against lefty Patrick Corbin. He's been shelled for 18 runs in just 24.2 inning during the month of July and gave up four runs in five innings during his last start. The Dodgers had a big day against him on July 15, putting up six earned runs on seven hits in four innings. Current Dodgers have a lifetime .277 average against Corbin, with Howie Kendrick, Joc Pederson, and Justin TurnerAdrian Gonzalez leading the way.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Blake Snell, TB vs. NYY - $8,600

The rookie southpaw has a 2.63 ERA in the month of July and allowed just two runs while getting a no decision in his last start. He last pitched against the Yankees on April 23 and allowed just one earned run in five innings. Current New York hitters have a combined average of just .111 and he'll look to continue that success in today's home start.

Jerad Eickhoff, PHI at ATL - $8,400

Eickhoff is 2-1 against Atlanta this season with a 2.37 ERA. The only loss to the Braves came at Turner Field, so he'll be looking to redeem himself there today. Atlanta has one of the weakest lineups in the league and usually present favorable matchups for opposing pitchers. Eickhoff does enter today having lost his last three starts, but allowed just one run in seven innings his last time out versus a tough Miami lineup. There are not many great pitching mathcups today, so take a chance on this one.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

J.T. Realmuto, MIA vs. STL - $3,500

Realmuto is hitless in four at-bats against opposing starter Carlos Martinez, but that doesn't mean he's not worth a start today. He got the day off Saturday should be well rested for today's game. He's slashing .325/.371/.398 this month and is one of the best fantasy catchers available.

First Base (1B)

Mitch Moreland, LAD vs. ARI - $4,600

Moreland has been smoking during the month of July and has seen his contact rate rise 10 percent in the last week. His hitting .321 for the month and has four home runs in the last week, including one on Saturday. He enters today with a five-game hit streak, and despite the higher price, is a great selection for your lineup today.

Second Base (2B)

Howie Kendrick, LAD at ARI- $4,300

Kendrick should be targeted both as part of a stack today and just on his own. He's been good against opposing starter Patrick Corbin, putting up a .417 (5-for-12) average in his career against him. Kendrick is having his best month of the season so far and is averaging over eight fantasy points a game in the last 10 contests. Adding to Kendrick's value is the fact that he can be used as a second baseman or outfielder.

Shortstop (SS)

Jose Iglesias, DET vs. HOU - $3,100

Looking for a super cheap shortstop who's been hitting over .300 in the last week? If you answered yes, then don't overlook Iglesias today. He's working on a nine-game hit streak and has been a solid producer for fantasy owners in daily leagues. Iglesias has earned at least three fantasy points in every game since July 19 and has two double-digit performances in the last week.

Third Base (3B)

Eduardo Nunez, SF vs. WAS- $4,500

Nunez gave San Francisco exactly what it wanted in his debut. He collected two hits, including a double, and stole a base. He continues to hit around the .300 mark and is one of the best in the league when it comes to swiping bags. The veteran utility man will likely continue to be a popular fantasy choice, though his ownership may stay down in tournaments today thanks to his 1-for-8 lifetime against opposing starter Gio Gonzalez. However, don't let that scare you away. When selecting a third baseman for our lineup, be sure to take a hard look at Nunez. His ability to get on base and his speed makes him a very valuable fantasy asset. He can also be used in your shortstop spot if needed.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Kevin Pillar, TOR vs. BAL - $2,900

I told you yesterday that Pillar's contact rate had risen over the last week and that he had been hitting the ball very well recently. He kept that going Saturday with two doubles and four RBI. He's got two double-digit fantasy performances in his last three games, yet still has a price tag below $3,000. He's already a great play today, but it gets even better when you throw in his lifetime .350 averge with three home runs off of opposing starter Chris Tillman.

Kris Bryant, CHC vs. SEA -  $5,100

This one is pricey, but if you follow the other targets you'll be able to afford him. Bryant is one of the top fantasy players available and is capable of putting up huge games -- as evident by his 24-point performance Friday night. Bryant averages 10 fantasy points a game and brings a four-game hit streak into today. If needed, you can slot Bryant in at third base, giving him even more value in daily leagues.

Andrew McCutchen, PIT at MIL - $4,400

McCutchen's numbers are way down this season, but he's been making better contact as of late and can still be a very valuable piece of a fantasy lineup. His average of 7.5 fantasy points a game isn't bad, and he just had a huge 30-point performance on July 27. McCutchen owns a lifetime average of .294 with a home run against today's opposing starter Matt Garza. He shouldn't have a high ownership in tournament plays, so take a chance on him.
