Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 9:
Ryan Flournoy, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy is a solid option to consider from the waiver wire this week, especially with uncertainty swirling around his teammate George Pickens. Pickens has reportedly been dealing with hamstring tightness during games and has also been listed on the injury report with a shoulder issue. While he hasn't missed any games, his effectiveness has been limited.
He's also become a buzzy name in the trade market leading up to the NFL Trade Deadline on Nov. 10. If Pickens misses time or is traded, Flournoy would be a great pickup. He's already involved in the Cowboys' passing game, catching at least three passes in five straight games and finding the end zone in two of his last three contests.
He's a borderline add already in deep leagues in his current role, but if he gets more targets and opportunities, he could end up being a great speculative stash from the waiver wire coming into Week 9. If Piceksn were to miss time with an injury, Flournoy would carry borderline must-start status in standard leagues.
Kyle Monangai, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai (thumb, toe) did not practice on Wednesday due to thumb and toe injuries, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. Following a 34-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, the Bears had a walk-through practice on Wednesday, but Monangai was an estimated "DNP" on the team's official injury report.
Monangai has not played since Week 4. He was off to a strong start in 2026 with 60 carries for 324 yards (5.3 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. Monangai's status for the rest of the week needs to be watched closely ahead of a Week 9 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his absence, regular starter D'Andre Swift will continue to lead Chicago's backfield, while Roschon Johnson will mix in.
Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden reeled in seven of 13 targets for 79 yards and a touchdown in the team's 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football. It was the second-year pro's third straight appearance with at least six catches and 12 targets, as he's putting together a strong sophomore campaign following a dud in 2025.
For what it's worth, Golden needs to clean up his drops, considering he was at six (depending on your source) entering Week 8 and collected a few more. However, quarterback Jordan Love keeps feeding him, and he's at worst a 1B option in the Packers' passing attack.
That, combined with Green Bay's lack of an effective run game, should remain a lucrative combination for fantasy managers. Golden and Green Bay will be put to the test next weekend when they square off with the New England Patriots.
Caleb Douglas, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Caleb Douglas caught four of six targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the New England Patriots, following his two-touchdown performance against the New York Jets in Week 7. The rookie's increased playing time was particularly encouraging, as he led Miami's receivers with 56 offensive snaps (86%), up from 44 snaps (68%) against the Jets.
His targets also doubled from three to six, although Malik Washington and tight end Greg Dulcich matched that total against New England. Douglas has recorded 13 receptions for 226 yards and two touchdowns in four games, including five catches for 94 yards in his NFL debut against the Las Vegas Raiders.
After missing three games with an ankle injury, he appears to be establishing himself as a regular contributor in Miami's passing attack. His explosive-play ability offers fantasy upside, although target competition remains a consideration with Malik Willis under center.
RotoBaller's Week 9 waiver rankings list Douglas as 28% rostered and recommend adding him in leagues with 12 or more teams. He also sits at WR31 in RotoBaller's early Week 9 half-PPR rankings ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Detroit Lions.
