Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Jordan Mason, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason (thumb) was designated to return from the Injured Reserve on Monday. Mason will have his 21-day practice window opened after missing the last four games while recovering from thumb surgery. The Vikings are hopeful that Mason will be able to return for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
It has been a month-long layoff for Mason, so he might not be quite ready yet from a conditioning standpoint. Once he's healthy, Mason should see a fairly consistent role behind Aaron Jones Sr. in the backfield. Fantasy managers looking for help at the running back spot should consider stashing Mason.
Kendrick Bourne, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Kendrick Bourne has taken on a bigger role since Marvin Harrison Jr.'s trade to Houston, which makes him another potential PPR option on the waiver wire. Harrison was held out of Arizona's Week 5 game while the trade was pending, and Bourne has made the most of the two games without him, posting 10 receptions for 117 yards on 16 targets. The 31-year-old followed a 70-yard game against Detroit by catching five of eight targets for 47 yards in Sunday's 18-16 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
His eight targets were one more than Michael Wilson saw, though Wilson and tight end Trey McBride are still prominent pieces of Arizona's passing attack. Bourne hasn't scored a touchdown this season, which limits his immediate ceiling, but his expanded slot role gives him a clearer path to steady involvement. Rostered in just 19% of Yahoo leagues, he's worth adding in 12-team PPR formats and deeper as a bench receiver with occasional flex appeal. Arizona hosts Denver in Week 7.
Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson caught four of his seven targets for 32 yards against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6. Wilson remains the No. 1 receiver on the depth chart, but he was out-produced by both tight end Trey McBride and wide receiver Kendrick Bourne on Sunday afternoon. Although this was Wilson's second bust performance in a row, we're still optimistic that he can bounce back as a mid-to-low WR2 going forward. Specifically, Wilson had a tough matchup against the Rams, and the road should get easier going forward.
At first glance, next week's clash with the Broncos may sound intimidating, but this Denver defense actually allowed 5+ receptions to each of the Seahawks' top three receivers last week, so Wilson should be able to contribute regardless of which cornerback is covering him.
The only real lingering concern we have is that Wilson may have previously benefitted from the presence of Marvin Harrison Jr., who helped draw away some of the opponents' best cornerbacks. With Harrison gone, Wilson may get more attention from opposing defenses. Still, he should be a top-24 receiver rest-of-season, especially with the Cardinals projected for plenty of negative game script scenarios.
JK Dobbins, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins churned out 41 yards and a touchdown on 17 rushes in his team's 17-14 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also caught all three of his targets for a gain of five yards. Dobbins got the Broncos on the board early in the second quarter with a four-yard touchdown. It's the veteran's second straight game with a score, putting him halfway to his 2025 total of four in just six appearances.
Still, it was another ineffective rushing day for him, as Denver's offense attempts to find its footing amid a slow start to the campaign. Backfield mate RJ Harvey saps some of Dobbins' fantasy value with his role in the passing game. However, the latter is the clear preference in the red zone, with 11 opportunities heading into Thursday's matchup compared with Harvey's three. Denver will get the Cardinals on the road next Sunday.
Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals shifted to a higher rate of shotgun, downhill runs in the Week 5 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. The shotgun formation fits backup running back Samaje Perine's skill set better, and his powerful running style resulted in 4.9 yards per carry on 14 attempts. Perine's 57.1% success rate tied for the most of any back in the NFL last weekend. Brown, meanwhile, saw 13 carries for only 39 yards (3.0 yards per attempt) while catching three of his four targets for 21 yards as a receiver.
Perine had one more carry than he had in the first four games combined, and he had one more rushing attempt than Brown. There have been 182 runs of at least 14 yards in the NFL so far this year, but the Bengals are the only team without one. "I think we'll continually assess how that touch share between (Perine) and Chase Brown should play out," offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said. "Every game's different." Brown will continue to have a major role in Cincy's backfield, but how opponents play the Bengals could determine how the Bengals dictate the usage of Perine versus Brown.
He should continue to be a must-start in all fantasy lineups, especially when considering that his 24 catches are the second-most of any RB in the NFL through five weeks.
