Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) could return for Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Barkley suffered the injury early in the Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and missed Sunday's 19-17 defeat against Jacksonville. His availability will depend on how he progresses through practice this week, although there is some optimism that he could be ready to return.
The 29-year-old has rushed for 182 yards on 36 carries through four appearances this season, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt without finding the end zone. Philadelphia's backfield has become increasingly depleted in his absence. Tank Bigsby (core muscle) remains on injured reserve, while Will Shipley suffered a partial tear of his plantar fascia against Jacksonville that could sideline him for multiple weeks.
Dameon Pierce took over after Shipley's departure but managed just 14 yards on 11 carries as the Eagles finished with 22 rushing yards. Barkley would reclaim the lead role if healthy enough to play, making his practice participation especially important for fantasy managers preparing their Week 6 lineups.
Drake London, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London hauled in seven of 11 targets for 118 yards in the 30-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. After a quiet first half, London woke up, catching six passes for 93 yards in the second half and overtime.
While he strung together his third straight productive game, this outing had some negatives. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. suffered a rib injury and couldn't return late in the game. London has had incredible success with Penix as the starter, and any absence could affect his fantasy value. He also appeared to limp off the field after backup Tua Tagovailoa threw the final interception. It could be nothing, but fantasy managers should monitor practice reports if he's not participating. If he and Penix are healthy, fire up the star receiver as a WR1 in fantasy this season.
Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams caught five of his seven targets for 51 yards and two touchdowns during Monday's Week 5 loss against the Buffalo Bills in overtime. Adams' first touchdown tied the game in the second quarter, and his next touchdown pulled the Rams within one point before an extra point tied it up. The 33-year-old has now scored 20+ fantasy points in three of his last four games, although two of those contests were somewhat skewed by the absence of Puka Nacua.
With that being said, Nacua and Adams have shown that they can coexist as fantasy-relevant options, with the former ranking as a high-end WR1 and the latter checking in as a mid-range WR2. Adams, who has 18 touchdowns over his last 18 games, will look to remain an elite scoring threat in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals, who most recently allowed Jameson Williams to find the end zone twice.
Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers is not on the injury report for Week 6. Flowers injured his hamstring in the Week 1 win over the Indianapolis Colts and was inactive in Week 2. A foot injury made the 26-year-old wideout questionable to play in the Sunday night game against the Atlanta Falcons, but he ended up suiting up and catching eight of his nine targets for 53 yards while adding a 13-yard carry on the ground.
His hamstring and foot injuries are now in the past, so fantasy managers should have Flowers locked into their starting lineups for the Week 6 divisional contest on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. When active, Flowers has had a high floor with WR1 upside, although fantasy managers would feel more comfortable if star quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) made a return this weekend. In his first four games of his fourth year in the NFL, Flowers has caught 26 of his 31 targets for 405 yards and two touchdowns. The former first-rounder from Boston College is still a must-start if backup QB Tyler Huntley makes a second straight start.
