Jordyn Brooks 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Solo Tackle Artist with New Competition
Jordyn Brooks has led the NFL in solo tackles in two of the past five seasons, including last year. Per Pro Football Reference, Brooks also has two of the 14 best single season tackle totals in NFL history, including last year. Throw in the fact that Brooks finished 2025 as LB1 in total Standard IDP Scoring, while finishing top 12 at his position in four of the past five years, and the Texas Tech product feels like a safe IDP pick in redrafts. However, there are rumblings that Brooks could be traded or lose playing time after Miami spent valuable draft assets on Jacob Rodriguez and Kyle Louis this spring. The risk of Louis, a coverage specialist, coming on for Brooks is particularly concerning, considering Brooks consistently rates poorly in coverage. However, Brooks' strength as a pass rusher and Tyrel Dodson's broad weaknesses in the passing game should mean it is Dodson, and not Brooks, who is jettisoned or benched for the rookies. Thus, Brooks should remain on the LB1 radar as long as he plays for a Miami team that should face lots of run-heavy offenses looking to milk early leads.
