Joel Embiid, PHI - C
- DraftKings: $9,600
- FanDuel: $9,200
Joel Embiid has got to be one of the most polarizing players in all of basketball. He'll miss large periods of the season, and then come back and dominate like he's the best player of all time. Right now, he's in one of his "good" phases as the 76ers push for a playoff spot. The fact that he's still priced under 10k against the Wizards is all you need to know to coin Embiid as the top overall pick of the day.

Any minutes restrictions Embiid had upon his return are a memory, as the big man has played 34 and 36 minutes over his last two. Despite his injury struggles, Embiid is averaging a robust 1.45 FPPM and is rocking a 33.6% usage rate (good for fourth in the NBA if he had enough games to qualify).
The matchup can't get any better, as Washington ranks ninth in pace, 29th in defensive efficiency, and dead last in rebounding rate. They've also allowed the highest at-rim frequency and the highest FG% in the paint. There is literally no one on the floor capable of even slowing down Embiid, and remember this is the team that Bam Adebayo hung 83 points on.
Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK - PF/C
- DraftKings: $9,000
- FanDuel: $8,900
Karl-Anthony Towns has been losing more minutes to Mitchell Robinson lately, but Robinson will sit on the second night of a back-to-back as part of his season maintenance. With Robinson off the court, Towns has a 26.8% usage rate and gets a 4% rebounding rate boost. He also averages an Embiid-like 1.42 FPPM.
Towns will go from one of the toughest matchups (Houston) to one of the easiest (Memphis). The Grizzlies (like the aforementioned Wizards) do not have anyone with the size or athleticism capable of stopping Towns, and they have allowed the fourth-most FPPG to opposing centers while also ranking 21st in overall defensive efficiency.
I've always profited from "double center" nights on DK, and this looks like a good night to pony up the dough for those massive double-doubles.
