Week 9 has arrived, and fantasy managers will have more injuries and bye weeks to navigate through. There are about five weeks left in the fantasy football regular season for most leagues, so it's time to focus on who to add for the playoff push. The Browns, Jets, Eagles, and Buccaneers are on a bye this week. At RotoBaller HQ, we are back to help sort through injuries and bye weeks with our updated Week 9 fantasy football waiver wire rankings for Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season. Nick Mariano has ranked the top 80 free agent options to help you prioritize who to add off the waiver wire.
Several players still have low roster percentages and could have an immediate impact on fantasy teams in 2025. Is Tyrone Tracy Jr. or Devin Singletary the Giants' primary back with Cam Skattebo suffering a dislocated ankle on Sunday? Is Trey Benson returning from the injured reserve soon and will take over as the lead running back for the Cardinals? Is Will Shipley or Tank Bigsby the Eagles' backup RB to add after Saquon Barkley suffered a groin injury in Sunday's win over the Giants, and are they worth prioritizing for Week 9?
We have answers to these questions and will guide you with our top 85 fantasy football waiver wire pickups list for Week 9. Time to go make some moves, tweak your fantasy teams, and grab some waiver wire stashes. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks
Some of the top names include Tyron Tracy Jr., Trey Benson, Jayden Higgins, Troy Franklin, Kayshon Boutte, Malik Washington, Dalton Schultz, and more. We recap why these players rostered under 55% in Yahoo! leagues should be on your waiver wire radar for Week 9.
Jayden Higgins, WR, Houston Texans
Week 9 Waiver Wire Rankings: 27
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jayden Higgins caught four of his eight targets for 34 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers. The rookie set a new season-high and career-high in targets and receiving yards. Higgins' increased workload was the direct result of Houston playing without Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring). The 22-year-old has commanded three-plus targets in each of his last three games, but he'd presumably fall back off the fantasy radar if either Collins or Kirk returns against the Denver Broncos in Week 9.
Kayshon Boutte, WR, New England Patriots
Week 9 Waiver Wire Rankings: 15
New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte was carrying a two-game touchdown streak into Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. The 23-year-old continued to find success during Sunday's victory. Boutte hauled in three of his five targets for 75 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. It has been a nice stretch of play for Boutte, who was quiet to begin the season. He figures to be a possible WR3 for the Week 9 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Malik Washington, WR, Miami Dolphins
Week 9 Waiver Wire Rankings: 15
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington caught four of his five targets for 36 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons. Washington capitalized on another opportunity to handle an increased workload with Tyreek Hill (knee) and Darren Waller (hamstring) both sidelined.
The 24-year-old receiver now has at least four catches in each of his last four games, ranking as the overall WR36 in PPR leagues during that span. His fantasy stock is heavily dependent on the play of Tua Tagovailoa. For now, Washington should be viewed as nothing more than a low-end WR3/flex ahead of Miami's Week 9 clash with Baltimore.
Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Week 9 Waiver Wire Rankings: 5
Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson remains on injured reserve for at least another week, as the Cards are coming off a bye. He is eligible to come off the injured reserve next week. Benson was slated to miss four to six weeks after being placed on IR earlier in the year after undergoing arthroscopic surgery for a meniscus injury. The Cardinals could open his practice window depending on how well the 23-year-old is recovering from his knee surgery.
The Florida State product was a surprising addition to the injured reserve after playing more than half of Arizona's game against Seattle earlier in the year. However, the team expects him to return this season. The team activated running back D'Ernest Johnson this week and has previously featured a rotation that has included Michael Carter, Emari Demercado, and Bam Knight. From a fantasy perspective, it's been tough to rely upon any of them with the team cycling through so many players.
Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, New York Giants
Week 9 Waiver Wire Rankings: 1
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. rushed for 39 yards on 10 carries while catching two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Giants lead back Cam Skattebo exited Sunday's game early with a dislocated ankle and is expected to miss the rest of the season. Devin Singletary also got some work in once Skattebo departed. Singletary didn't gain any yards on two attempts but did haul in his only target for 28 receiving yards.
Tracy started the season as the team's starting running back before being replaced by Skattebo. He worked ahead of Singletary last year and is in line to get the bulk of the carries in the Giants' backfield. The 25-year-old has 159 yards rushing on 45 attempts and a touchdown while catching 10 passes for 68 yards across six games this season. Tracy is rostered in 48% of Yahoo Fantasy leagues and is a must-add heading into Week 9. The sophomore is an RB2 for their upcoming matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
